I gotta hop in this week's thread to boost a fantastic new record from a local artist here in North Carolina. RIYL: Dashboard Confessional, The Maine, Death Cab for Cutie, Acceptance, glitzy '80s-esque production
Have Mercy and Pinkshift released incredible records today! Also, will be revisiting VHS (X) from X Ambassadors and seeing what else finds its way into my ears today. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!!

Slow Crush (Thirst) -- This came out of nowhere for me, but whoa. It's something. Shoegaze with some post-metal heaviness. This thing sounds beautiful. Asymmetric Universe (A Memory And What Came After) -- Instrumental prog-djent fusion with some keys, strings, & sax. This is a groovy time. Pinkshift (EarthKeeper) -- Catchy alt-punks go in a more nu-metal direction, and it really works for them. Have Mercy (the loneliest place i've ever been) -- Catchy emo. I thought these guys kind of fell off after their debut, but they've really come back blazing the past few years. The Beths (Straight Line Was a Lie) -- Fun, summer-y, jangly indie rock. Listen to this before the seasons change! Trudger (Void Quest) -- Prog crust. Can be slow, thick, & heavy. Can be agile, labyrinthine, & melodic. In Mourning (The Immortal) -- Prog-y melodeath. This band is always excellent. Hexrot (Formless Ruin of Oblivion) -- Pretty weird diso-death. but also pretttyyyy good. Kingdom of Giants (Burning Chrome) -- Acceptable, catchy metalcore. Månegarm (Edsvuren) -- Some big, dumb (compliment) Viking folk metal. Suotana (Ounas II) -- Melodeath
