The opening song of the new Muse album reminded me so much of American Idiot-era Green Day...had to do a double take on if I played the right album. Enjoying Will of the People, for the most part, today. Already re-checked out The Dangerous Summer and single from Snarls, Kulick, and will be sure to look for other recommendations on this helpful thread!
Seems like the best new release week of the year. Bands just hoping to be played over Labor Day weekend.
Yes!!! This is exactly what I thought about the entire album. I'm sure the band may say otherwise and I haven't really read much on what they've said about this album but it comes off very lyrically political. Thoroughly enjoying it and on my third listen. Been awhile since a Muse album grabbed me from the get go!
My recommendation for the day if you're after something new from an upcoming artist is the new Nightlife EP. Honestly one of the best EPs of the year so far in my opinion. Easiest way to describe it is soul punk.

Today is all about Pianos Become the Teeth. I’ve had a review copy for a few weeks now and this record only gets better with time. Probably my album of the year. Excited to dive into JID and Teen Suicide. Gonna give The Dangerous Summer another shot, but I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed on it so far.
Of course! Definitely a big surprise this morning, but a welcomed one! How 'bout that new Superbloom track?!
hell yeah. If you haven't listened to the band Bleed, listen to their 2021 EP Somebody's Closer, gives me the same vibes.
I immediately looked them up on Spotify and could tell from the EP cover that I'd dig it. Sounds like Narrow Head meets Soul Blind... Which is perfectly fine with me! Thanks Amanda! :) (the song Silver: Fire! )

On my radar this week: Altered Images: Mascara Streakz Bastille: Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past blackbear: In Loving Memory Butch Walker: ...As Glenn Centershift: Of... EP The Dangerous Summer: Coming Home Dirty Heads: Midnight Control Drag Me Out: Demons Away Embrace: How To Be A Person Like Other People The Happy Fits: Under The Shade Of Green Lacrimas Profundere: How To Shroud Yourself With Night Lonely Robot: A Model Life Machine Head: Of Kingdom And Crown Marcus King: Young Blood Matt Maeson: Never Had To Leave Muse: Will Of The People Pianos Become The Teeth: Drift Revival Black: Under The Light Soil: Play It Forward Surfaces: Hidden Youth Will Hoge: Wings On My Shoes
New Matt Maeson is solid. Better than Bank on the Funeral, which I thought was a big step down from his EPs.
New JID might be the best hip hop record of 2022. I see it going toe to toe wtih Kendrick, Denzel, Pusha, and Joey.
