The new Alice In Chains really surprised me, this is a great album. The reviews seem to think it's good but doesn't have that instant classic that most of their albums have. I disagree, this album is strong from top to bottom, no filler. Cantrell's guitar tone and solos are some of his best ever. This is the first of the new era albums that could stand with the Layne albums. A+ Also picked up 3EB and Murder By Death. 3EB turned into background noise on my first listen, i'll have to give it another shot when i can give it my direct attention MBD- It's ok, not their best. I can't put my finger on exactly what makes me find it average, could just be a grower. Alas is a great opener though.
