New Starflyer 59. Get into it!

 

My daughter (and first child) turned 1 this month, and earlier this summer, I decided that I would record a big project in honor of her birthday! Vivian-i will be releasing later this month (only on Bandcamp), containing ten tracks that range from silly to serious, stretching my usual math-y emo influences into fresh directions. I've just released two singles from the project, "Ready" and "Every," and I'd love for people to check them out!

Wishy especially has AOTY potential for me just based on my love of the 4 pre-release tracks.

And don’t let the “shoegaze” label put you off if that’s not your thing, it’s really just a texture within their sound which is more like 90s radio alt-rock meets early to mid-2000s emo pop rock like Jimmy Eat World.

How's the new Foster The People?

 

Looking forward to Yours Truly later. I listened to the album opener on the Falling in Reverse album and I'm laughing my ass off about how badly Ronnie ripped off NF. For anyone who listens to NF...you'll hear it immediately.

 

• Charly Bliss -- supremely catchy indie pop-rock. more laid back than their past releases, but still exceptional.
• Gel -- hardcore. great hardcore.
• Thotcrime -- glitchy mathcore. can be pretty catchy. is always good.
• Dark Tranquillity -- melodeath masters put out another great album. shocking.
  
• Holy Blade -- Twitching Tongues dudes decided to make an old school AFI-sounding EP. so fun.
• Extinction A.D. -- thrash and hardcore had a child and named them Extinction A.D.
• Morgan Wade -- laid back country. really enjoying this one.
• Trench -- heavy, crushing, suffocating metalcore with electronics
• Greylotus -- prog-y, soaring deathcore.
  
• Missouri Executive Order 44 -- quick, grind-y mathcore
  
• Reserate -- metalcore with some electronics.
  
• Yours Truly -- pop-punk band continues down their darker, way less punk path. reminds me of As It Is' trajectory. This one didn't grab me like their previous releases did.
