I will forever find the direction Danny Elfman took incredibly fascinating. Same guy who did Tim Burton soundtracks is putting out alternative electronic instrumental albums haha.
Messing - Couldn't Be Better A band called Messing released an album titled Couldn't Be Better. It reminds me a ton of the indie rock aspects of Say Anything's early stuff. Pretty fun, catchy music!
They came out of a musical theatre group called The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. Definitely check them out, hugely influential band combining elements of jazz, new wave, punk, ska, and later turning toward a more alt-rock sound. Bands like Mr. Bungle, Primus, RHCP, Incubus, 311, No Doubt were all influenced by them.
If you haven't watched any of the videos from Big Mess, I highly recommend doing that to get an even further look into his weird genius brain
Maybe I'm just an old man, but I'm kind of excited by the new Goo Goo Dolls album that was produced by John Rzeznik. Trying to put some thoughts down for a review of this one soon.

Really enjoying the new Goo Goo Dolls. If you like or tolerate their late-career output I recommend. If you’re looking for another Superstar Car Wash or even another Let Love In you might hate it.
