IATA is so good. Vinnie’s vocals have gotten so good over the last few years. Now gimme some new Constant Elevation!!!
Thanks for mention! Feels so good to finally have the Lock & Chi EP done and out there! Now back to focusing on my 4th album
I Am The Avalanche (THE HORROR SHOW) -- This is really good. I was a little soft on Dive and Wolverines, but I feel like this one really crushes it. Archspire (Too Fast to Die) -- Do you like really fast, really technical metal? These guys are the best at it. Inferi (Heaven Wept) -- Tech-death with just a touch of symphonics and some great melody. May be their best album. Immolation (Descent) -- This band has been around for 25 years, and this thing is still some of the best death metal you will hear. All time greats. Witch Ripper (Through the Hourglass) -- Do you like Mastodon? I bet you will like Witch Ripper then. This and their last album are almost perfect examples of progressive sludge. Super groovy and super catchy. Sugar Horse (not a sound in heaven) -- This thing is weird. Fuzzy stoner guitars surrounding post-punk, with post-hardcore vocals and a sprinkle of synths. The more I listen to it the more I love it. Spirit Adrift (Infinite Illumination) -- A surprise release, and sadly this band's last. Riffs galore! Riffs that won't quit! A Smorgasbord of riffs! Traditional heavy metal and doom collide. Long Distance Calling (The Phantom Void) -- Instrumental post-rock that doesn't just focus on builds & climaxes. I was actually let down with The Maine, Broadside, and Bilmuri. I adored every one of their last albums, so this was pretty disappointing. I only skimmed them though, so maybe more time with them will change my impressions.
Culture Wars’ debut is one of the better debut pop rock albums I’ve heard in awhile Holly Humberstone album is also predictably wonderful
Truly shocking to me that they seem to have been relatively active for 20+ years. I don't think I ever even listened to the second album.
second album is synth pop punk gold, i prefer over it over the debut which i also love, but they are both a product of its time so at this point its the nostalgia and friendship that bring me back to those older albums. this is one of my favorites off their latest album, they sound nothing like those albums 20 years ago
Surgarfist is a solid pop-rock album! I semi recently rediscovered them myself after only having heard the first two also. "Give it up" is a complete jam!
It reminds me a lot of Habits-era Neon Trees, which is not a comp I was expecting to make in 2026 but I’m very happy with
