I hate the live action remake trend but would love a trend of live action remakes of straight to video sequels. Like, I am 100% more likely to watch a live action Return of Jafar than I am of ever watching that recent Lion King remake.
Such bullshit. He was fantastic in this and if it was some white dweeb they woulda had a bunch of auditions
I’m 100% down if they continue this live-action version into multiple sequels. This movie ruled and I’d be interested in seeing them do original sequels instead of relying on the existing sequels. Smith was a great choice for the genie.
I'd like to see them expand on the first one a bit. Would love to see more of Mena, Naomi and Will. Loved all three of them in the first.
I enjoyed the film enough even though I don't know if I think it was great. some of it I think is how closely tied it needs to be to the cartoon, not everything translates as well. some lack of energy in some of the songs especially because you can do more with animation. but I do wonder what their own takes on sequels could be like if they had the freedom to build off of it and not stick so close to a previous film.
I liked it more than you did but that last line is exactly what I’m hoping for. Much like the genie at the end of the movie, they must break free from the shackles of the original trilogy.
Mena Massoud is struggling to get auditions, but Billy Magnussen is getting a Disney+ spinoff, yikes.
i mean, Magnussen is great. Massoud 100% should get more roles but that doesn’t mean Magnussen shouldn’t
I'm about halfway through; made it to Whole New World before my husband got home and had to shut it off (he has zero interest). I was enjoying it, though. Mena's acting is a little rough at times, but he's charming enough and Naomi Scott is lovely. Enjoying it more than I was expecting.
