Can anyone give me a quick rundown of their style and/or a good starting point record? I hear their name pop up a lot, but have never listened.
i like knife man, haven't been too into them though. pretty much the definition of folk punk/anti-folk, if mountain goats were edgier and the vocalist was even harder to get into/more nasally
Hot Take: I enjoy People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World more than Knife Man They're both good though.
I feel like this is a common opinion? People is pretty much the fan favorite. Anyway very stoked about this.
Oh, is it? I think everyone I've ever talked about them with thought Knife Man was their magnum opus.
Weird, I think I hear Knife Man talked about the least. When people talk about their favorite it's usually either People or Can't Maintain. They're all excellent though so there's no wrong answer haha.
As a starting record I think their latest, Christmas Island, is the most accessible and catchy. And probably just working backwards from there is a good way to get into them.

Hopefully the color in color lp is still around when I get paid in a week. Stoked I'm getting this on my birthday.
Like half of this is streaming on bandcamp. It's all pretty good, American Garbage made me lol really hard though.
Wish this was on Apple Music now instead of in a week. Really liked my bandcamp listen though, better than Christmas Island I think which I already liked.
I had no idea they had a new one. I listened to Christmas Island nonstop when it came out and I plan to do the same with this.
