A researcher finds that Anthropic's Claude Code CLI tool has had its full TypeScript source code inadvertently exposed through a misconfigured npm package Claude Code's source code appears to have leaked via a misconfigured npm package, revealing internal codenames, a “Self-Healing Memory” architecture, and more oops.
In 2026, we are already facing a fresh drinking water crisis, with half the world in water stressed areas. By 2030 fresh water demand is projected to exceed supply by 40% By 2030, scientists project the Amazon will no longer produce enough moisture to act as a carbon sink, parts of the eastern Amazon already emit more CO2 than they remove by 2040 scientists project there will be no polar ice in the summer to reflect sunlight, with this projection and the above projection leading to DRAMATIC acceleration of, and much more irreversible, global warming the only discussion I’m interested in having about AI is how we convince humanity to move away from it and that we’ve reached a tipping point where more technology is not automatically a good thing. I don’t give a flying fuck about the AI industry and its competition and how open source it is or whatever. I give a fuck about, we are creating an economic crisis with layoffs, just to further invest in something that’s rapidly magnifying an ecological crisis, by drastically increasing water consumption… and stressing power grid capacity to the point clean energy movements are being reverted back to wars over fossil fuels. And yet the AI industry is projected to need to increase its data center capacity TENFOLD over the next 5 years to support the massive energy requirements of AI training… so it’s massive water and power consumption, which is already having a significant global impact, is going to multiply exponentially. What the fuck is AI gonna do for us when the Earth becomes uninhabitable? At this rate the latter is going to happen before AI even reaches the level of R&D that its supporters are idealizing. How far does this have to go before all of humanity - not just working class people bullying AI accounts on social media, but all of humanity - realizes we’ve gone too far and are digging our own mass graves? How far does this have to go before the workforce starts refusing to use it and going on anti AI strikes? At some point “I only use these AI tools cause my boss makes us and I gotta earn a living / stay relevant in my industry” isn’t a good enough excuse not to take a stand
