I may start watching Rebels. I just don't care for the look of the animation. May watch Clone Wars some day. Just need to look up a definitive watch order because I've heard the release chronology is a mess and that there's a lot of filler.
I guess that's fair. I'll watch all of Adventure Time, which doesn't have much of a serialized plot, with no problem. With Clone Wars, I just wanna get to the "good stuff" since I'm not as enthralled with that universe and aesthetic.
Even saying that, like, some “good stuff” to me could mean character moments and/or important stories or just the ones people consider great. It’s not a you thing, and it’s not exclusive to the word “filler.” But generic words just fail to effectively communicate to me. But we all use them all the time. I don’t think there’s a solution or anything, like those generic words are real words haha I just don’t think they’re very useful.
I mean as someone who's super excited for this: if you go in expecting another Andor you're just asking for disappointment. this thing is gonna be fan service front to back and there will not be any Emmy worthy Skarsgard speeches in it. let's just rip that bandaid off lol
Really excited by the move to Tuesday night to make it more like a traditional prime time show that people can all talk to each other about at the same time/the next day. Midnight release was always weird for me because it was so late that I already felt a day behind the discussion once I watched it. I assume they’ll do a similar thing for Doctor Who later this year too.
I wonder if the show will do enough to get people invested who aren’t up to date on 12 seasons of TV. My biggest concern and reservation. But we shall see. It looks cool.
Booked tickets to Barbie tonight before they made the release date switch, so I probably won't be watching until tomorrow night.
should i bother with this without knowing anything about clone wars or rebels? i want to watch this but dont want to not like it only because i dont know shit about it.
Until we can see it, it’s hard to say for sure. But I would assume they will fill in what is necessary, but Rebels fan will probably enjoy it more as some major characters will be getting major screen time with guaranteed references that fans will get that the general audience won’t. But I’m sure the story will be understandable. They pretty much wasted most of Mando 3.1 recapping what happened in BOBF relating to Mando and Grogu. I don’t see them making it confusing to people who didn’t watch a cartoon, even an incredible cartoon.
I guess I do, too. I kind of liked waking up and watching it in the morning. But now I don’t have to avoid spoilers on twitter first thing in the morning.
This is incredible so far. There’s such a classic SW feel to it that it’s obvious Filoni is so passionate and just flexing now. Kiner is killing it with the soundtrack. These characters are like seeing old friends again. Excellent premiere.
Yea, this is off to a great start. Cool to see Ryder be played by his voice actor. And randomly Jai Kell. I don’t know if that was the voice actor though. He wasn’t prominent enough for me to be able to recall his voice. I’m glad that Sabine is not suddenly super force sensitive. It being fairly weak (for now?) makes sense and helps explain why Kanan and Ezra never felt it from her. I just realized that what’s left of the Ghost crew could wind up in the Mandoverse movie and got so excited about the thought of seeing those characters on the big screen. Holy shit. I felt like Ahsoka seemed a bit off to me. But I don’t know where this lines up with her appearances in Mando and BOBF. No major concerns on this front though, just felt weird to me at times in how she is interacting with Hera and Sabine. But it’s clear there is history since the end of Rebels that we haven’t seen and are only vaguely told about. So, we shall see how it progresses from here. Music was great. Loved hearing some Rebels stuff pop up. I’m not sure if I liked the speeder bike music… it kind of reminded me of the Clone Wars movie when they’re fighting up the cliff. Not in how it sounds, but finding the style a little jarring. I was really hoping Marrok(so?) would be killed so it could put to rest the theory that he is actually Ezra somehow. But I recalled a photo of him on Seatos, so I knew he would escape. Glad we are now caught up to the Rebels epilogue and are starting a new adventure! Although, I’m now worried that space mom and murder bot may not be in much more of the season. It seems like Ahsoka and Sabine will wind up going on that hyperspace jump somehow. I’m wondering how much of the season will be in the Unknown Regions.
Both episodes were really great!! Such a cool atheistic and all the characters slay. I really need the knight with Morgan and Co to be a figure. Also the outtro slaps
I’ve started clone wars series and just can’t get past the animation style, i was still able to put the pieces together
