Not me almost tearing up at Ezra going back to blue with the same top piece as Kanan for his saber. And I guess Sabine truly does have the force. I just want a show on these characters every year, please. Love that Chopper was like, a long storm trooper? Bitch, please, that’s Ezra. But for real, why did Hera just stand there?
I don’t really see that either though. Ahsoka is the exception. I think Shin will still ultimately turn good. Baylan doesn’t want to keep thing in balance or order. He wants to end the cycle.
Okay finale. Definitely felt more like a lead into season 2 rather than an end of season 1. I’m guessing from the final shot that Anakin will be sticking around for season 2 and potentially more
Man, I can't say I expected this to end on such a cliffhanger. I knew there would be loose threads they could pick up on but this didn't even really feel like an ending. I almost wouldn't be shocked if we get a surprise S2 announcement (and I would be very happy). I guess they could just be setting up for Filoni's movie too. Overall, as long as we get more and more Ahsoka moving forward, I don't mind that Filoni basically used an "Ahsoka" show to instead sneak a continuation of the Rebels storyline. She definitely didn't really feel like the focus of her own show for a lot of it, but what we did get with her continuing to grapple with the effects of Anakin's downfall was really awesome and felt true to the character. Dawson's portrayal of the character grew on me by the end of the season, especially as she loosened up after the WBW episode. Speaking of the Rebels crew, they did an amazing job bringing them to live action. Ezra and Hera (and Chopper of course) felt ripped right out of the animated series, and while I never became fully sold on Sabine randomly being force-sensitive, her portrayal was still great and I love that she was basically the lead of the show. Thrawn was also fucking awesome and I'm so happy that he seems to be the villain of this era moving forward. Could have used a Zeb cameo though smh Baylan and Shin were incredibly interesting and unique characters and it's such a damn shame that we won't be able to continue Baylan's arc as intended. I wasn't really familiar with Ray Stevenson before this show but he brought so much to that character... what a loss. Gotta mention Hayden Christenson continuing his redemption arc too, he was awesome in his limited screentime here. I'm really intrigued to get Anakin as a Force Ghost moving forward, we've never seen him light again post-Vader before so I'm really interested to see if he'll keep making appearances that aren't just flashbacks/visions. Overall really thrilled with this show, it's probably tied with Andor for these live action shows for me now. I enjoy them for different reasons, Andor is incredible and gives an entirely new perspective on the universe but Ahsoka feels like the best "Star Wars-y" SW storytelling in forever. Bring on either S2 or the movie, I can't wait
Yeah I gotta say this and Andor are at the top of my fav star wars shows now. So what do we have next that's ultimately leading to the massive collab movie? Mando S4, Ahsoka S2, and Skeleton Crew right?
As much as I hate it, they unfortunately have to recast Baylan. Does anybody have any ideas who they could even go with?
Loved this show. The last episode felt a little rushed but all of these Star Wars shows have odd pacing. Mando S1-2 is still my favorite post-Lucas Star Wars stuff but this is a close second.
alright I'm not the only motherfucker who was half expecting to see Bendu when Sabine saw something in the clouds am I lol this was great. love the balls it had to end on basically the heroes losing entirely and the status quo being flipped. heartbreaking that we'll never see Ray finish out Baylan's story arc though
Yeah, I was going to say Liev Schreiber if they want an age appropriate actor, otherwise I think they could age up Henry Cavill, but he may be a bit too young.
God damn I need more of this story now. I hate to admit but I got so wrapped up in the Ezra, Ahsoka, Sabine action I legitimately forgot about Shin and Baylon.
Tons of people out there I think could do a great job with it but my top choices would be someone like Liev or Gerard Butler if they could manage to get either of them. I've also seen mentions of Graham McTavish and I think he'd be fantastic. I'll be extremely bummed if they just drop his story arc completely. He's one of my favorite new Star Wars characters we've gotten in a while.
Liev Schreiber instantly came to mind too. Another one that bears resemblance is a scruffy looking George Clooney but I am in no way suggesting that.
Overall really enjoyed this show. Bummed that it ends without any resolution to any of the stories and no word yet on when the next piece of it will happen but excited for when it comes Biggest miss for me was the lack of Chopper murders and attitude. Sabine was my favorite part of the show, and became my wife's new favorite overall Star Wars character I think Very interested in Baylan's motives and really wish we got more from that. No way that can just drop that story completely Was cool to see night sister magic in live action. Not sure why Morgan's skin only slightly changed after the ritual and didn't completely turn like the other mothers Ezra was perfectly cast and seeing him build a new lightsaber while ignoring Huyang and using what he knew from Kanan was cool. Plus another new saber for the prop replica companies to make (also Hasbro only releasing the one Ahsoka saber and not the shoto one is funny now, wonder if they knew all along). Kind of surprising Ezra was able to just steal a ship from them without anyone noticing Have to assume Zeb will be joining back up with the group in the next installment in the fight against Thrawn Going to be a long wait now...
