Isn’t the Rey movie coming first though? So his movie is still at least 3-4 years out I’d guess. They have to give us a 2nd season in between
another banger but there was some janky editing in this one right? didn't take me out of it or anything but my housemate and I definitely noticed some shoddy cuts gotta admit I didn't quite see it last week but yeah Eman is perfect as Ezra, best casting so far. weirdly excited for him to see Hera and Chopper again
wish they would've let chopper beat the shit out of that senator crazy that Ahsoka could win lightsaber battles against Maul, Grievous, multiple inquisitors, and Darth Vader but is struggling against Baylan Need to watch again as I think I missed some stuff said between Baylan and Shin as well as some stuff with Thrawn There's a lot of things that feel like still need to happen in the last episode. Guessing Zeb's not showing up until next season/the movie Saw on Reddit that someone said Kallus should show up with Zeb and be played by Jamie Lannister and that would be fun As much as I'm loving this show, it's kinda weird that Ahsoka feels like a secondary character in her own show
Third times the charm, loved the visual of Ezra using the force to block Shin's lightsaber and seeing the blade waver
As a fan of the early 90s Thrawn Trilogy, it gives me so much joy to see him be a badass strategist in live action during actual battles. Shit rules.
feels kind of back door pilot-y to test the waters with these characters and the larger audience, kind of like Ahsoka’s appearance in Mandalorian. We’re about to get a lot more of the ghost crew and I’m here for it.
I guess they couldn’t really call it Rebels Season 5, but that’s really what it is. Definitely down for more seasons as long as it stays like that because I find most of the other characters more interesting than Ahsoka anyways.
I do love seeing the Rebels characters in live-action, but I feel like the writing on this show is kind of lackluster. Sabine and Ezra's reunion just didn't seem as emotional as it maybe should've been. Almost as if I the viewer were more excited than the characters. It's been literal years, and Sabine wasn't 100% sure Ezra was even still alive until she saw him. I'm sure not everyone will have the same perception as I do, but that's just how it's been coming off in my opinion.
weirdly found Ahsoka and Ezra reuniting more emotional than Sabine and Ezra lol. I guess they were trying to have Sabine go right back into her big sister routine and play it cool but it didn't quite work? doesn't help that Ezra looks way older than her now
Despite liking it all so far, I do think I set my expectations high on moments like that. But that’s on me more than the show, I think. They gave us a little bit on why Sabine wants Ezra back, but most of it is from knowing their relationship from Rebels. The show didn’t really provide any context on how Ahsoka knows him or what their relationship was. I agree that the reunion with Ahsoka felt a little more emotional. Which is odd. Ezra and Ahsoka have been through some intense experiences together, but they did not spend that much time together. Their time together was important to both, but the stronger connection for him is Sabine. I was looking for a bit more with that. But after moving pretty quickly in the first half of the season, the pace of story telling has slowed way down to give us more time to focus on these events we are seeing now. Yet not enough time for character moments. Well, not enough for what I was looking for, at least. What we have gotten is good, but honestly, I want a show of just the Rebel characters. But that’s just my selfish Rebels loving heart.
Maybe. But I’ll be kind of upset if Ezra totally flips out about it. There is certainly logic to it if it happens, but this seems like an Ezra was has fully relied on the force the past ten years. Having outgrown reacting purely emotionally. We shall see how upset he gets. Even Ahsoka seems to have greatly softened on her. So I’m hoping Ezra doesn’t react to harshly.
I don't think he'll react harshly and would understand her reasoning, but she is holding off on telling him to not spoil the moment of being reunited, and probably being ashamed/guilty of it, but he can definitely tell there's something up with her
Really bummed that there’s only one more left, also just chiming into say that the Shin Black Series fig looks so bad like noooooo
This one definitely felt more like it was setting up for the finale but loved spending the time with Thrawn and especially Ezra, who it really feels like they nailed transitioning to live action Definitely agree that this feels more like a Rebels continuation featuring Ahsoka than a show about Ahsoka, which I have mixed feelings about, but I'm enjoying this so fucking much that I don't even mind that much. Appreciated the Zeb shoutout this week but I do still hope we get the fan service moment of seeing him lol, especially since they already made his character model for Mando S3
The perfect casting makes sense now that I’ve learned that Sarah Finn was the casting director, which I guess I should’ve assumed. Highly recommend looking her up if you’re not familiar with her. She might be the best casting director of all time honestly. She cast pretty much the entirety of the MCU and I don’t care what your thoughts on those movies are, you can’t deny how good the casting has been throughout.
I have a theory about Baylan after last night's episode. I think at the end of whatever his arc is, he will be viewed as a coward in the eyes of Thrawn and the Empire. He does not want to kill Jedi. He became an inquisitor to protect himself as a jedi. I think he sent Shin by herself to fight Ezra and Sabine knowing they would offer her their help. Shin running away can be explained by the fact that she probably has a changing view of Thrawn, but worries that SHE will be seen as a coward by her master if she forms an alliance with their "enemy".
Baylan is not an inquisitor. He is a mercenary. He thought he killed Ahsoka. Yes, he wasn’t happy about having to do so, but he did fight her and thought he killed her. Baylan has had a different goal from Morgan and Thrawn the whole season. He isn’t a coward, he has a different objective. We just don’t really know what that is yet.
