I haven’t read any leaks. So I dunno. It functions in a similar way to what we saw in Rebels. Though having someone relive moments is a new aspect.
Easily some of the best scenes we’ve had in Star Wars. Been waiting years to finally see a live action version of Hayden’s Anakin in the clone wars. Also the shift of Anakin to Vader while he was charging with the clone troopers. Icing on the cake
I really loved this episode. Thought it was quite beautiful and the first episode of this show that had me feeling like “okay, yeah that was really neat and essential and full of magic and wonder I look for in Star Wars.” And justice for Hayden, wow. Truly goes to show that he was just too young, inexperienced, and saddled with bad writing/directing during the prequels era. Adult Hayden has more life experience and weight to his performance here and I wanted to cheer for the guy. I enjoyed what we got of him in Obi-Wan, but this was a pleasure to have. Honestly makes me wish this is just how old Anakin was in the prequels. Good for him.
I’m so stoked for Hayden and the love he’s gotten the last few years. He really deserves it and you can tell from his interviews and performance how much it means to him. Good for him
Hayden did such a good job bridging Lanter's CW Ani with prequels Ani in this. especially the first flashback when he was joking around
It’ll never happen but imagine a live action Clone Wars movie with Hayden, Ewan, and this new young Ahsoka actress Edit: sorry her name is Ariana Greenblatt
Man these last two eps have really stepped it up after a shaky start to the show. I never thought about it being the real Anakin or Vader or whatever. It's the World Between Worlds, which exists beyond space and time, so it felt to me like Anakin from every time and no specific time. The good and the bad, all facets of Anakin. That makes sense to me.
The lesson here was to stop living in the past. Ashoka has an entirely different demeanor and Rosario even delivered her lines with more of the light we expect from Ashoka which people have been complaining about. She has accepted what happened to Anakin and that it wasn't her fault and she can finally move on. That's what the "choosing to live" is. This episode was so beautiful and I can't wait to rewatch.
Great episode, easily the best so far. Feels like the show is really gonna take off now. Im glad they cut to the chase and mostly just show us the good stuff unlike some of the other SW shows.
Great episode and a gripping watch. A lot to unpack and not really sure what to believe about which Anakin it was, if any specific one at all. Also don't believe it was just Ahsoka imagining it since Jacen could hear the lightsaber battle. And, could Hera hear the lightsabers too or was she just in awe of Jacen being able to tap into the force like that?
Catching up on the last week's and last nights. Episode four was great. One of the better lightsaber battles, if not the best, in the TV shows so far. The force fake-out Sabine used was very clever. Also her choice at the end was tough to watch, but definitely the more interesting story route for sure. As for episode five, I'm a little mixed. The World Between Worlds turning into a Clone Wars flashback was great, but I'm really not sure that the "lesson" worked for me. I don't know how I would have done it, but what was presented felt a little half-baked. Everything once Ahsoka came back was great though. The Purrgil escape was perfect. I do wish Hera was along for the ride though. This show needs more of her.
I had the same thought. It's a minor nitpick, but it was a little jarring for sure. Still, Ariana Greenblatt did a good job for sure.
This is the best reading of it I've seen so far. I guess my complaint is the show didn't really do a good job of establishing this conflict in the earlier episodes so it fell a little flat.
One thing on my mind is why didn’t they try talking to those space whales years ago? Seemed pretty obvious. They saw them take Ezra and Thrawn away. Was it just because they didn’t know where they were until now?
I would presume they had no idea where they were. IIRC they were surprised to find them when they arrived.
Also in fairness, finding a map is a far easier task than begging a whale for an intergalactic ride, so i would assume it's not a very high on the list strategy unless all other ideas have been exhausted
my guess is that and as far as we know Ezra is the only one ever to actually make that connection with them before. And I think until recently it was assumed Ezra and Thrawn were dead until rumors of Thrawn's return started
I don’t know it took them years to find a map and 10 mins to catch a ride. You tell me which seemed easier
