To echo everyone else, what a fucking incredible episode. Properly made me tear up, still tearing up writing this. Patti LuPone was absolutely outstanding. Can’t wait for next week!
Fiancée pointed out that Agatha, “the witch killer”, is the one who puts the death card over the Queen of Cups. Great detail. Can’t wait to see how Jen as the path forward plays out
It was really just the comment(s) that it's one of the best episodes of a TV show ever that I disagree with. I do agree it was the best of the season so far
This is just a Me Problem and one day maybe I’ll give up on the MCU entirely but I just don’t feel like much since Endgame *matters* It just so clearly exists to Increase Shareholder Value and obviously it always did but maybe I’m just more cynical about it all now
This episode was so good, up until now I didn't care too much about tge show but I got super emotional when it ended. Also, my wife pointed out that the song in the end (Time In A Bottle) was tge song that played when Quicksilver did his thing in Days Of Future Past.
I actually was thinking about this earlier today. In the Infinity Saga, not everything fit specifically for the overall story of the Avengers and the Infinity Stones, but they did add worldbuilding that eventually came together in the end to service the larger plot thread. Here, however, we have multiple threads that seem even more removed from each other.. WandaVision + Strange + Agatha + VisionQuest is one thread. FATWS + Cap + Thunderbolts is another thread, with Black Widow + Hawkeye also syncing up. The Young Avengers slowly being formed is another thread. Will all these reach culmination in Doomsday and Secret Wars? I don't know. Probably not, and I think that's actually fine. Moon Knight can just be its own thing and not mean an appearance on an Avengers film. It just adds color to the overall world for those who want it. The funny thing is that I remember very clearly that Kevin Feige told everyone before Phase 4 began that post-Infinity Saga was going to be like this.
Like, there was no way they were going to explore both street-level characters like Daredevil and Punisher, offbeat ones like Moon Knight and Blade, and cosmic ones like Captain Marvel and Nova and have them all culminate in a final movie. It's just worldbuilding. You're either into that or you're not.
I don’t necessarily even want it to culminate endgame style, it feels like with the release/production schedule that we’re pulling threads and pulling threads and pulling threads when will we see Hercules again? Is there another Thor movie actively in development? What about literally any character from Eternals? Did Charlize Theron actually show up at the end or Multiverse of Madness? There’s no way to be sure!
It’s like these characters are just going on ice for years at a time so why should I care about Namor or Ironheart or Starfox
i don't think we'll see namor again but that's more due to Jonathan majors-type reasons than anything else
I think the best thing about AAA is how it feels like it does matter despite Endgame because aside from Wanda, it’s not really rooted in superhero. It’s very much exploring another established part of the world. Also, it’s gay as hell
