I’m very interested for an album in this style. After a few listens I’m not super into this song as a standalone track, though

Lastnight, I listened to this song quietly from my one little iPhone speaker up to my ear, and I wasn't into it. This morning, I read the press release and then blasted the song in my better speakers, and now I'm fully on board.

I haven't kept up too much on label machinations but looks like RFC has that Secretly Distribution going for them now so that's sweet.

This is the freshest and most unique they've probably ever sounded. I wonder how I'd feel about it if I didn't know it was AFI

 

Even if it wasn't AFI, it is a very good track.

 

Kind of reminds me of some of White Lies' stuff. Into it.

 

Davey is still the most attractive man I've ever seen. Always down for a new look for him.

Song is great. I like Bodies more than most, but this sound is fitting for them.

 

Yeah, the goth/new wave stuff was never for me, so them leaning fully into that isn't necessarily my cup of tea. They sound reinvigorated though, so I'd rather them do that than tread water in a genre they've worn out. Cool it's out on RFC.

 

Listened on my laptop speakers last night which was definitely not ideal. Gonna relisten today but I am intrigued.

The new song is something I could see coming on the radio in GTA Vice City.

 

I dig it! There isn't really a hook to it, but that's fine with how the mood and atmosphere vibes are. And after reading the promo message released for it, it seems they're very invigorated to go in this direction so I'm on board to hear it.
