This is definitely the most I've listened to an AFI release since December, it's kinda sparked a new interest in the band making me go back and listen to everything! I haven't gotten to the albums between this and Burials yet because I cannot stop listening to this or The Art of Drowning
I always say art of drowning changed my life majorly, sing the sorrow confirmed I was on a correct path, and burials was me at 25 going yep this is me. Burials is my favorite post STS record. It's incredible
Someone at Netflix REALLY dropped the ball not getting Behind the Clock in as a single for the final season of Stranger Things. I know they only do music from the era, but just put Davey in a scene with his 70’s look and we’re golden.
I think their last album Bodies definitely starts them on the path to the sound they're doing with this album (not quite to the extent though). I actually really like that album and think it kinda fell under the radar for most people
Bodies is so up and down for me - like Twisted Tongues is a total banger, never played live. I love far too near and on your back, the punkier tracks, and death of the party might be my favorite, but a lot of the other tracks are just mediocre AFI songs - which admittedly are still better than most bands. Plus, how do you leave Caught off the record? Bonehead move
One of the coolest things is for YEARS every time AFI'd play Starland in NH they'd play this song with Lou Koller from Sick of it All swinging with Davey. Always ruled hard
