Really like the b-side, but yeah it may have felt a bit redundant depending on its placement in the tracklisting
FINALLY getting around to this and yea even though they don't go for the same sound this stands out soooooooooooo much more than Bodies for me. And more than the Blood Album for that matter too, so I'll echo that it's definitely their best since Burials. Also happy to see this charted better than Bodies, hope the band is excited to see that happen. Gotta give it more listens but man so many instrumental parts stick out to me, also something I haven't felt as strongly with them since Burials.
This is literally all I've listened to since October 3rd. It's been years since I was this into any new album, and I missed that feeling so much.
At the Fillmore gig right now, kinda surprised they sold it out but the vibe is very exciting seeming, they're about to go on so will report any fun shenanigans
I lost mine in the Denver Airport in 2013 on the way back from seeing them in Seattle. Ironically, there wasn't even any DF merch at the show, so it was a total waste.
My gf chose the hotel instead of an AFI show happening tonight. I’m glad, since I didn’t know they had a new album, which is what they’d probably play from instead of awesome 00’s rock.
Oh is it that time again when that poster randomly appears and posts the most random stuff in various threads
Philly was the better crowd vibe. Opened with strength through wounding which obviously rules. Other philly highlights were Malleus, paper airplanes, greetings and goodbyes, and one of my personal favorites, the underrated Face Beneath the Waves from Burials. Tonight in Brooklyn was nuts, totally packed - and out of nowhere, they open with Miseria Cantare. Incredible. Brooklyn got two more in my pantheon, Lost Souls and Veronica Sawyer. Then they brought it all the way back with File 13, which I don't think I've seen since 03. I've been in a pretty shitty headspace lately and was considering skipping an AFI headline tour for the first time since I was 15. So glad I manned up. My gas tank feels fill. No other band can capture that in me. AFI forever
