Davey was throwing some right grenades in those interviews. He even said he regretted the screaming in DU
I absolutely love how much Adam and Hunter get to shine on this album. A lot of AFI albums feel like Davey and Jade are at the forefront on the bands sound, and this album really shows how great Adam and Hunter are as a driving force.
crazy how many people i know that never even jammed this band that were watching and talking about those interviews lol cant think of that happening too often
I’ve only listened a couple of times, but I’m really loving it. They’re definitely ready to take this step in their career, they sound comfortable, not forced at all. Listening to the record after the Hardlore podcast definitely adds another level to the experience.
I dunno why but listening to this album makes me regret not seeing Blaqk Audio last year with Sisters of Mercy
Black and pink remains a cool color combination Makes me want to sing "blackpink in you area" when spinning this
I went with Rough Trade. Not only did I like their variant best, I feel all classy when they tell me my order has been "dispatched" instead of shipped.
Currently listening to this while sitting next to a fire in the rain, it’s cold and spooky out and this is hitting.
Finally getting to the Blood Album in my discography run. I was anticipating this to be the worst one. So Beneath You, Dumb Kids, and Pink Eyes (why would you call a song this lol) I could leave but the rest is great.
Damn, Bodies might have my weakest reaction so far. Dulceria is amazing though. His delivery on "inhaled sugar there, dancing through the sweet air" throughout got me good. The bass and sparse guitars hit so well.
AFI is really stepping into something smart and remarkable with the new album. Can't wait to see them in Tampa!
I'm so angry at myself for not springing for the extra $4 for Priority Mail from Rough Trade. Media Mail has never felt so sluggish.
Not sure how I feel about this record. It’d easy to put on and have in the background (which is not always the case, so I do think it’s good) but outside of the opener I don’t remember very many specific moments. Needs more listens.
