AFI have announced they’ve postponed their tour:

Given the current challenges that we are still facing at this stage of the pandemic, we have come to the very difficult decision to postpone The Bodies Tour to the fall of 2022. With Covid cases still on the rise, we fear that we will not be able to complete the tour the way it is currently scheduled, and moving it will hopefully give us a better chance to see it through to its entirety.

I just don't understand these tours being postponed. Have they not turned the TV on for the last 8 months? NFL, college football/basketball, baseball. All open for business.

let's not be critical of AFI and other bands for being more cautious and considerate of the safety of their fans than these huge money-making corporations that literally don't give a shit how many of their patrons get Covid. not to mention the difference in venue size/indoors vs. outdoors.

Every club in Nashville and many other cities have never closed. Shoulder to shoulder this whole time..

yeah but plenty of bands have canceled shows. like the protomen on nye at the exit/in. which I had tickets for.

I feel like you're being obtuse or you probably don't think covid is a big deal, in which case you can take that shit to someone else

Bummed that I have to wait basically an extra year for this, but I know it's gonna happen eventually.

So just because places are open means they should play? They are choosing to be safe and not be a part of the huge crowds gathering during a pandemic, seems like that should be seen as a respectful thing to do

The band and Davey have been out and about doing shows this entire time though. That's what I'm saying.

that was in october and a little thing called omicron has happened since then

blaqk audio had a new years eve show planned that they canceled

it's totally understandable for bands and artists to not want to play club shows at this time. I know other bands are on tour right now, but I imagine they are doing it because they honestly need the money. AFI don't necessarily need to do that, so I think they're doing the right thing.
