the davey episode is why i decided to try getting into afi and the jade interview was the final push. so far, i figured out i don't like any of their pre-STS stuff but my god, STS is killer. i find myself unable to get into decemberunderground, crash love has a few really great songs but falls flat otherwise, and burials is pretty fantastic. probably the second best record i've heard so far. i will continue to keep the thread updated with my findings if i can remember to lmao
Sing the sorrow is best imo but art of drowning has a ton in common with it def surprised to hear someone like one but not the other
Extremely exciting news that they're apparently already halfway through recording a new album! I hope it actually comes out next year and doesn't get endlessly delayed like they are prone to do
i think its largely the production and vocals, i used to kinda struggle w those albums vs their work sing the sorrow onward but now i love them, art of drowning esp is a top 3er
And even more exciting news is him alluding to the new material being in a similar death rock vein to Nooneunderground. Now we're talking
Finally had ttime to listen to the podcast. Great listen. Makes me wish it was October and chilly vs 90 degrees and humid. Going to do a discography run this week.
Before they were one of the best emo bands ever they were one of the best skate punk and then horror punk bands ever The early stuff fucking rules too
