STS is still my favorite album of all time, but I probably listen to DU the most now. I still have Crash Love in regular rotation too, especially on drives home.

Are we expecting a new album in 2025? I feel like I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Jade mentioned it

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

Thanks to this thread, i’m now revisiting Black Sails thru DU. I haven’t listened to Black Sails in maybe 15 years. I’m halfway through it now and it really is all killer no filler.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Ran through TAOD today at work. I swear that record just gets better every listen.

  8. I genuinely liked Bodies (it's not amazing by any means but overall enjoyable), I think I owe the catalog a revisit since it's been a minute

Just listened to The Missing Man EP and woof.. worse than I remembered.

Y’all weren’t lying about the production either - sounds like demos at best.

I enjoy Back Into the Sun a lot. But that's really the only song I return to on that EP.

missing man is still pretty solid to me, def the most ive enjoyed anything since burials. get dark is pretty bleh but the other 4 songs are all great, and yeah back into the sun is especially killer

didnt know a new one was coming, not really expecting much but itd be nice if it was solid

I've honestly really enjoyed all the newer stuff. It might not be what I turn to when I want AFI, I'll go to STS or DU which are both top tier good shit. But the albums after are still very good. Someone said it, but no one does it quite like AFI.

DU came out on my 11th birthday and I felt so hardcore picking it out at the mall, like I was so much darker and deeper than all the other 11 year olds

The best song on Burials is The Conductor.

face beneath the waves for me. might outright be my pick for their best closer, such an immense track

Man speaking of The Conductor(and how great it is). Caught AFI in Birmingham, AL when they added 4 random dates to B/C tier market stops on their festival run that year(I flipped my shit when I saw Birmingham). Huge Burials fan and we ate good that night. I remember the venue not being sold out, but still pretty full. They did 2 encores, which no other city got, and I recall some stage bantering and some vibes that they didn't plan it and just had the time and wanted to play more. So we got A Deep Slow Panic AND The Conductor. Most songs on the tour.
