Summer Shudder was so hard to leave off mine. DU was the hardest to just pick 3 from for me. Endlessly She Said is also fantastic.

Sing the Sorrow has some of the best production on a rock record I can think of. Such great tones across the board. I guess that's what you get when you enlist two of the greatest rock producers ever.
One off single with "Shadow" in the title? I would be very surprised if a new album was already in the works.
Imagine that’s how they announced a departure, people would flip. (I don’t think that’s what it is) I really enjoyed their last album, happily take a new album. Likely a one off though, I’d imagine.
I think it's the beginning of a new album cycle. The most recent DF bundle includes a shirt called "Missing Woman," and Davey's jacket on the recent tour had "missing man" written on it. You'll also notice that their IG has been scrubbed of all pictures of Davey (save for the profile picture). I predict that they will continue removing the other three from that image and their social media pictures.
its been almost two years, and if the lead up is long enough, thats totally enough time for a new record cycle. I guess its just more rare to see records coming out that close to each other for a band of this age, but I think its totally plausible.
I don't remember what was the consensus, but The Blood has become one of my favorite albums. Rare for a band 25 years into their career to deliver some of their best work.
Really cool/creative that they took any pic with Davey in it off the Insta. Super curious to see where they go with this
I believe Davey mentioned in an interview that their album cycles might be getting shorter, and that there was likely going to be new music next year. If this is an actual album announcement they're building to, normal lead times means it wouldn't come out until probably January or February. Definitely sooner than I was expecting, but I'll never complain about new AFI. I bet they'll keep doing the same thing with the other three, culminating in a group photo where all four are "missing," and no other Instagram posts.
I hope they explore their industrial side a little more and bring back the electronic touches that have been missing since Decemberunderground. They've done a lot of experimentation, but I feel like they're still able to surprise their fans.
That would actually make more sense than a full album at this point, given the time frame and the fact that they probably plan to release (and briefly tour on) the fourth Blaqk Audio album before going into full AFI mode again. I feel like "Missing Man" (assuming that's in, or is the title) works well for b-sides, too.
They played at a venue LITERALLY 15 minutes walking from my house in 2017. On the ONE night I couldn't go...I plan to see them next time they come through.
