"Miss Murder" is great. Literally the only part of the album that I don't love is the chorus of "The Missing Frame"
Kill Caustic blew my mind when it came out. The verses being so heavy combined with one of the catchiest choruses ever really did it for me
I picked it up on the release date, too. 6/6/6. Listened to it day in and day out for some time. I became a fan after Sing The Sorrow came out so it was the first new shit I heard as an established fan.
Good to see all the replies in here! AFI are such a good end of the year band with Sing The Sorrow for Fall/Autumn and Decemberunderground for Winter. Both albums also have killer b-sides. I still stand they need to release a b-side album.
The Blood Album is better on revisit and i already really liked it to begin with. Probably my 4th favorite overall
Likewise. They've got some good experimental stuff on there, along with some tracks that are really throwbacks to their older sound that I think get overlooked.
Listened to this a few times today since the thread was active today. Really is a fun listen. Hidden Knives and FFTF are tops.
The last song on the album it took some extra time for me to like was Snow Cats. Very different not only from the well-known AFI sound, but also Crash Love and Burials. It’s got a really “big” sound to it that I can’t really describe. Love Davey’s vocals so much on these last two albums.
I never knew "A View From Here" existed until today. Looked it up after watching that vid several posts up.
Amazing song! It only got leaked one or two years ago. I just really wish AFI would release a b-sides album.
Wow I did not realize Blood Album was only a year old this month, it seems older to me for some reason
I could do without Killing Lights and 37mm on Decemberunderground. Take them both out and throw Rabbits in there and that album becomes classic for me. As overplayed as Miss Murder got and despite the fact most songs on the album are better, it’s still insanely catchy.
Also, Sing the Sorrow turns 15 on the 11th sooo yeah, i feel old as fuck now. That album still holds up so well. And the production is still great and each member brought their A-game to those recording sessions.
Some days I prefer drowning as well. Those are easily the best two records, with black sails in that third slot.
