Not to turn this thread into the Korn thread but i was very into them when I was 13 and they still have a couple jams I’m happy to throw on once in a blue moon
Didn't Jade say they were going to go into the studio late 2017/ early 2018, or am I misremembering!?
I thought Davey was doing another book or something. I could be wrong. I didn't really enjoy the last record that much, so I would be down for a new one that's hopefully more up my alley.
No bad tracks on that album but over the years miss murder has become my least favorite, pretty easily. That said, listening to it now.
I just did the other day!! I really love it - it has such a christmassy atmosphere in a weird way haha
Yeah I agree. I remember right off the bat Miss Murder and Kill Caustic were my favorites but listening now, I think Kiss and Control and The Interview are my favorites on this. The whole album is so good though, one of their best.
Kiss and control was my first favorite, today it’s probably the interview, missing frame, or killing lights. Once i really started to appreciate the more chill and restrained tracks i came to adore them
Same here. Skip the opener and Miss Murder and you have yourself a killer record. I don’t like that part later in the album when he says “cut cut cut cut you up”. It’s like I can hear the spit in his damn mouth.
i actually love the opener, and while i understand the spit point i like that part too haha. if they replaced murder with rabbits, that'd probably be the best iteration for me. though i would miss miss murders bridge.
Even though Miss Murder has moved down to one of my least favs on the album, it's still a great song. I've always thought if I had to introduce someone to AFI with one song, it'd be that one. Super catchy, great music, chanty chorus and the bridge gets pretty brutal.
I wanted to hate Miss Murder when it was on the radio 24/7 and a bunch of people I didn't like got into AFI, but it's so damn catchy. Davey's story about the song is funny.
This album dropped on my birthday when I turned 11 years old, and one of my fondest memories of being a kid is my parents taking me to get this and spending the entire day playing Runescape and jamming the shit out of it. Such a good album, my brother (whose favorite band growing up was AFI) always said he didn't like it but was super happy he managed to A) get me into his favorite band and b) see them put out something that appeals to others even if he doesn't like it. Great record.
The album doesn’t do much for me compared to the rest of their discography. Crashlove is easily my least favorite, Decemberunderground is my second least favorite. However, I know 60% of the lyrics by heart still today and The Killing Lights, Kill Caustic, and Love Like Winter are great tracks.
