I did this on the Anberlin thread and it was fun, what is everyone's favorite 3 song stretch on any album? I'm torn between a few: Affliction-The Missing Frame-Kiss and Control Torch Song-Beautiful Thieves-End Transmission Miss Murder-Summer Shudder-The Interview
leaving song pt 2 - bleed black - silver and cold pretty much any 3 between summer shudder and endlessly, she said
I didn't remember Dancing and Death of Seasons were within 3 songs of eachother. I think this is actually my favorite.
Kiss and Control - The Killing Lights - 37mm for sure honestly if it wasn't for "The Missing Frame" (my least favorite song on the album) there would be a solid 8 song run of awesomeness that would be too hard to divide up ("Miss Murder" through "37mm")
i'm sure i'd still scream the lyrics like my life depended on it if i saw them play it live, idk why that chorus bothers me that much. one of those unexplainable things as a music listener haha
It's not even like I hate it, it just doesn't really fit well on the album imo, especially the chorus. I think I read somewhere that that one actually is a STS outtake that they decided to include as a DU bonus track for whatever reason. It is a great song though.
I would not be surprised at all. You can totally tell it would have fit on STS. I just have it as the last song on DU since it technically was released during that cycle.
I don't know when it was written(STS or DU writing sessions, maybe neither), but Rabbit's first appeared on a comp. like a year before DU was released.
via wikipedia: "Rabbits are Roadkill on Rt. 37" was recorded during the Sing the Sorrow sessions, and was eventually released on the MySpace Records: Volume 1 compilation in November 2005 and as a bonus track on the UK and Australian editions of Decemberunderground.
Haha I don't know anyone that bought that comp. I will readily admit that I downloaded Rabbits because I could never find where I could just buy the singular song. I would doubt that comp is even available. I'm sure there are some time and place gems on it!
I loved the Missing Frame! It was a short lived single right? I think the music video was just the song from their live DVD.... Everyone on here loves Kiss and Control right?
Great song! I have so much love for DU as a whole including the bonus tracks. Every time I hear Love Like Winter it blows me away. STS and DU are perfect autumn/winter albums.
It really kills me that AFI hasn't released a b-sides album because there are sooooo many good tracks from them that didn't make albums.
yeah maybe it's just its placement in the tracklisting that makes me feel this way. this song wouldn't have felt out of place in Crash Love.
