Looks like Adrianne will be playing Kerrville's Welcome Home Fest in October (in Texas) https://www.kerrvillefolkfestival.org/welcome-home-fest Could be a one-off but fingers crossed there will be a solo tour and album around that time
They are recording a Tucker Zimmerman album at Adrianne’s house, James mentioned it in an interview not long ago. The band is all of Big Thief plus Twain and Zach Burba (iji)
Yeah that’s been the timeline of her last two albums. I’ll be surprised if it’s not out in October/November
Not directly Adrianne related but Lutalo, who opened her solo shows back in 2021 (except not Chicago because he got sick rip), put out an EP today. I made a thread for anyone interested: https://forum.chorus.fm/threads/lutalo-again-august-25-2023.65423/
They also opened for most of Big Thief’s latest European tour. Pretty wild opportunity for a fairly new/small artist. Looking forward to checking out the new EP. I would recommend the song “Darkeve” from the previous EP to anyone unfamiliar
Big Ears festival lineup was just announced and includes Adrianne. That’s in Tennessee in end of March. Also she’ll be at the Welcome Home fest in Kerrville in October. I think we’ll be getting some solo news very shortly after Born For Loving You gets released this week
beautiful as always someone on discord found an interview with Phil Weinrobe from back in May where he says the new solo album will be out in 2024. also someone on reddit said they heard it'll be January but no idea where they got that from The first single for Buck's new album (also on 4AD) came out 3 months before the album. Based on that timeline, hopefully we'll get a single in the next month or so Phil also mentions first hearing Adrianne here which is cool
Not too surprising given it’s already October but on Instagram she said Welcome Home Fest this weekend is her only show until spring
I’d love to ask for this as a Christmas gift and use it to get started in songwriting again (been a few years since I’ve written more than a snippet), but I feel like it’s more for aspiring professionals.
I think it's meant to be for anybody (as I believe most of the School of Song courses are). I'm in the same boat as you, it's been a long time and I'm hoping this will push me back into writing/playing again but even if it doesn't, hopefully it's at least a cool insight into her writing process Here are some relevant bits from the FAQ Q: What musical experience should I have? A: People across all musical levels will be able to gain something from the course. However, it will be helpful to be comfortable playing a few basic chords on any instrument of your choice. Q: What if I’ve never written a song before? Can I still participate in this workshop? A: Yes! As with any new skill, just starting is usually the hardest part. This workshop will provide the structure and accountability we all need to get started and follow through, for beginners and old guard writers alike.
