people often say a song made them cry and I always assume they're exaggerating but on my first listen I definitely shed a tear at the end of this one. even knew the lyrics in advance but it's still so emotional and perfectly arranged to convey that

 

I’m going to love this record forever. I’ve never liked anything they’ve ever done this much. It’s the feeling I get from “promise is a pendulum” stretched out to album length.

 

Perfect compliment to the Big Thief catalogue.
This is a forever album

Fuck that sounds great. Loving the dual vocal track. Her commitment to making every recording special is great. There’s like one little detail in every song that just makes it stand out that much more, could easily be a bunch of really basic singer songwriter cuts, and none of them are.

Saw Adrianne last Saturday. Everyone in the audience had tears in their eyes for the full show. The most beautiful concert I have ever been to!

Did you get a chance to chat at all? She’s usually not into photos but recently I’ve seen quite a few

 

Yeah we chatted briefly. I left the show planning to just go straight home and then saw down the alley a bunch of people waiting by the tour bus so I was like alright I’ll give it a few minutes, which then turned into longer, and then I kept saying to myself she’s never going to come out but eventually she did! There were a lot of people waiting, it was down pouring, but she met with every single person and signed whatever they wanted and took pictures and had conversations. There was a guy who worked at the venue holding an umbrella over her the entire time.

(Also yeah I met Thom in 2022 who is still the biggest artist I have ever personally met, but Adrianne is probably my #2 biggest, either her or Clairo)

Yeah let’s talk about Once a Bunch instead. So glad it finally came out, remember seeing it as an encore in 2021. She does Prine bout as well as anyone
