I guess all we know so far is Paramore are headlining the Saturday and blink are headlining Sunday? I’ll be there for the whole thing regardless, but I’m curious to see the splits. Driving up from Toronto the morning on the 26th and heading back on the 30th
John D better start announcing some of those nine headliners. The average concertgoer doesn't know that Bamboozle is coming back next year, and Blink/Paramore is going to be a massive draw by themselves.
I think they'll split it up a lot more than this. Most of these acts are similar(ish) enough that they could work on either day. There's undeniable splits in terms of fanbases, but it wouldn't be a wild swing to have Beach Bunny share the stage with Blink. Or to have Midtown or Thursday on the same stage as Paramore. And just talking about the bigger bands, if they put Japanese Breakfast on the same days as Blink/Turnstile, and put Coheed on the same day as Paramore? That could impact draw in a positive way in terms of people wanting to go to both days. And, I mean, honestly, if they divide it up by "genre"? The diversity they clearly took a lot of effort to curate would go straight out the window when you look at the daily breakdown.
Is this going to be the new fucking normal. You need to buy vip to get to be in the pit for the main stages?
I think most of the artists will play both days and the headliners will be different. This is based on nothing but the festival saying it starts at noon and ends around 11pm
It just wouldn’t make sense to have the same bands play both days. Especially if they aren’t selling one day passes lol
VIP is worth it for the better bathroom situation lol. The wwwy VIP thing was overblown. I was in the GA pit area for jimmy eat world who was on the pink stage and was plenty close. But if you want to be right up against the stage then yeah it would be annoying.
I thought it was odd that Early November and Vacationer were following the fest but weren’t on the lineup. Would LOVE both of those to be there
Lineup is killer and I have family in Jersey I could stay with, but $500 is fucking STEEP, and they'll probably jack up the prices by the time I have enough money saved to get tickets. Conflicted.
It's impressive that When We Were Young Fest has anybody thinking that the "norm" for festivals is all of the bands in a single day. To my knowledge, When We Were Young is the only festival that really does that. Coachella has the same line-up across multiple weekends... But even then, the bands aren't all on the same day.
Everyone I was going with to see blink at MSG has bailed for this, & I've decided to join them. It's kinda hard not to It's def several decades past it's prime, but it's still very easy to go & have a fun time. But you've gotta stick to the boardwalk, & even then, don't be by yourself late at night. I've had more than one friend go on a late night walk after midnight & get mugged. Not to deter anyone from going, I usually go once a year for some reason, & always have a blast. Just don't be dumb
