Also, holy shit, it was so easy to get a Lyft after. We took off when Paramore had two songs left, went through exit 6, walked to Kentucky Ave, and waited for maybe 5 minutes.
Anyone go to The early November last night? What time did they start? Don’t want to ditch blink early for senses fail but would like an idea how things were
we got there quickly after the fest ended so i cannot speak for people that arrived 20 minutes after the fest ended, but it was very easy for my group to get in, move around, and peace out when we were ready to go. i don’t think they turned people away, i just don’t think it was as much demand as you’d expect given the proximity to the fest and price tag.
Made it just in time for LS Dunes. Goddamn they rocked. Debating whether to try and catch MCS or just hole up at the main stage for a better spot for Turnstile and blink. Also don’t wanna miss J Brekkie.
Merch is kinda ridiculous. Waited an hour in line just to get there and find out most of the shirts were very limited in what size they had left
I automatically don’t like front bottoms fans for pushing forward being rude during movielife….it’s the second stage…no need
Today was amazing, holy shit. Schedules were pretty much perfect and not nearly as many kinks to work out as yesterday. Blink 182, Turnstile, Motion City Soundtrack, The Front Bottoms, Knocked Loose, Incendiary, and Soul Glo were all fucking fantastic. The Starting Line has some sound issues, but they were still fine, and Midtown didn't really do much for me. I bopped around and checked out Candy, Oxymorrons, Loveless, Waterparks, and The Movielife in my downtime. Overall I had an amazing weekend - easily the best festival of its type I've ever been to, and I'll absolutely go next year if the lineup is dope.
Had a great day but I’m not sure my fat, old ass, broken body can handle these beach festivals for too much longer lol Also ran into @ALT/MSC/FAN. Super nice (and very tall)
As for bands I saw today.. Jersey Calling - never heard of these guys before today but they were fun Candy - solid Oxymorrons - these guys are friends of mine but maybe my favorite set of the day. So much fun Midtown - I love these guys but I wasn’t as into this as I wanted to be. Thought the sound was pretty bad Waterparks - not a fan but caught their set while taking a break on the sand Knocked Loose - holy fucking shit The Starting Line - sound wasn’t great here either but I enjoyed the set. Played most of the songs I was hoping to hear Incendiary - super happy to finally see these guys. So good. New songs were great live The Movielife - glad I got to see these guys again. Always a good time Motion City Soundtrack - felt bad for Justin but applaud him for giving it his all considering the circumstances Coheed - Always a good time. Great band Turnstile - I’ve seen these guys three times in the last 7 or 8 months so I wasn’t as hyped on it today (and I was fucking exhausted by the time they came on), but solid as always blink-182 - Second time in 2 weeks. Ton of fun Senses Fail - went up to my room to take a quick shower after blink because I was insanely dirty, then rushed downstairs to catch the free show. Watched 7 or 8 songs and bounced, no energy left. Buddy’s voice isn’t great, but it was decent enough
Incendiary had a pretty good sized crowd. Candy played super early so a ton of people weren’t through the gates yet, but there was still a decent number there
skipped the senses fail aftershow simply because my group was exhausted. these two days kicked my butt. no amount of sunscreen was going to save me, i am burnt. i am beat up from knocked loose. could you imagine the chaos if they played directly before waterparks instead of the opposite? really glad i made the trip to NJ and i definitely enjoyed my time. did senses fail do an extra long set similar to TEN, or did they treat this like another day on their headliner they’ve been on with that set?
They played for 90 minutes I think. Seems in line with what they’ve done lately. Nu-metal melody and free bird included.
Slept in all weekend. Avoided holiday traffic driving 2.5 hours to AC. No sunburn. No waiting in lines. No being compacted in with 30000 sweaty people. No overpriced hotels, parking, drinks, food, and merch. No bruises. No regrets, but happy the festival seemed to be a big success for anyone. Bamboozle and Warped were fun in my 20s, but I knew I'd be miserable at a festival at age 40. Kudos to you older folks that trooped through it.
