Just ran into Ace Enders at Caesars. Super nice guy. Confirmed they’re playing a 90 minute set tonight
All the videos I've seen of Paramore from tonight look very high energy. band also sounds the best they ever have.
This is upsetting That's fair. This is coming from a guy who spent $600 for a festival last year solely to see Paramore so I guess my bias is showing haha
I don’t think Jimmy Eat World was bad themselves, but there was something very off with the sound mix for them. Had chants of “turn it up” around me after each song. Andrew McMahon was solid. Bleachers was awesome excellent performance. Actually left early so didn’t see Paramore a few complaints -did it seem the main stage was too low to the ground for anyone? I feel like I could barely see anything going on on the stage, don’t remember warped in 2019 being that bad. -the water at the refill station was basically room temp, but I guess that’s expected -most garbage cans were egregiously overflowing. Do you really have no one to empty them at some point during the day?
Drug Church was the best way to start the day. Linda Lindas were fine, but mostly due to sound issues. Jeff was lovely. Beach Bunny was fun despite some technical difficulties. Andrew was solid. Jimmy was good (I actually loved how top heavy the first half of the set was since I had to leave early for PUP). PUP was fucking AMAZING. Bleachers was cool. Paramore was great. Only big complaints are some of the mapping of the lines (for merch specifically) and walking on sand, which the latter was pretty solvable by walking along the shoreline. Outside of that, I love this fest, honestly, and I would totally come back if the lineup was equally cool. Also got to run into D-HO and thatsthespirit! The plan tomorrow is Soul Glo --> Knocked Loose --> Incendiary --> Motion City Soundtrack --> The Front Bottoms --> Turnstile --> Blink 182. Might squeeze in a little Starting Line if food lines aren't bad.
couple of comments/responding to people posting in here… -main stage did seem a bit lower to me potentially, but the other thing that i noticed that made a difference is that you’re approaching the main stage from an upward angle too if you’re stationed ocean side. warped didn’t have the VIP section, so i spent the entire time on the right side of the main stage back then… it was a much more even standing situation. i never got very comfortable standing at the main stage today but felt fine at the other stages in that regard. but again, i always approached it from the ocean rather than straight from the middle of the festival grounds so the angle could have also led to this for me. -jimmy eat world probably played the most stale set i’ve seen them play as well as sounded very off compared to typical sets. you can blame the mix, you can blame whatever you’d like, just wasn’t a very memorable performance for me. -almost every single main stage artist i saw commented on technical difficulties at one point in their set. -food lines depended on which area you went to. grabbed food after jimmy eat world’s set specifically and the food that was set up on the boardwalk side had quick lines, but the like for the food in the middle of the fest grounds on the ocean side had massive lines. -the early november was so, so, so good and i was so close on the right side of the stage i just enjoyed every second of that set. i left a little early but man, i am so thankful they exist. -i left very burnt today. that sun was no joke. sunscreen couldn’t save me.
Main stage crowds were a mix of very fun, lively pits to entitled normies shoving their way to the front or not liking push pits. The side stage crowds were pretty awesome and fan-driven all day with very little issues - PUP and Drug Church's crowds, especially, were very fun and communal.
were those paramore groups up there? That we’re gonna camp out and keep non paramore people from the front?
Never listened to them before but Meet Me @ The Altar were so good. insane how popular PUP is at the moment. disappointed in Jimmy but like others have said they were having some sound issues TEN might have put on one of the better acts of the whole day lol
Did anyone happen to get one of those special cocktails they were serving? I'm thinking about grabbing one right before Japanese Breakfast and sipping that while the crowd movement is at a (relative) minimum but I don't want to get something in a cup that you can easily spill.
