I know a lot of people were disappointed by the album, but I'm so happy she's able to continue making music after the vocal surgeries and all her anxiety over this. She said in the Carpool Karaoke video that she likes trilogies so her albums won't be titled after her age, so I'm very curious to see what the next era is for her.
25 is really good. It got the kind of backlash you expect for anything with that much hype, but she'll cry all the way to the bank.
"When We Were Young" is also a career highlight for her at this point. There's never going to be another 21. It's just not gonna happen
I ended up being pretty blah on 25 personally. Just too many tracks I straight up don't like. But I'm also very happy she is still able to make music, and was still able to take a few tracks from that record that throw them on my long car mix playlist, which is good enough for me.
I think part of my initial let down with 25 is that the first glimpse we got at it was Hello, and no other song on 25 comes close to that sort of experience. "When We Were Young" (much prefer that one live version over the recorded final product) and "All I Ask" (so bummed the Grammy performance was a bust by her standards) are definitely my other standouts.
Same, it's one of my favorites. Glad she picked Send My Love though. For some reason I enjoy 25 more than 21.
I used to slag on Adele quite a bit for being boring, a waste of a great voice, etc... but going back to the standouts of 21 is giving me feels right now. Still am not into 25 but glad she's still making music.
Got shut out of buying tickets for her US tour but I got to see her a few months ago in Manchester which was early in the tour and it was jaw droppingly amazing. I'm not usually fond of giant arena shows but not only does she put on an amazing show but I was blown away with how intimate the entire show was. She made a point to talk to or acknowledge people in the audience, told funny stories which as an American I didn't quite understand all of but still enjoyed, and even dealt with the ridiculous amount of people running up to the stage to take selfies with her with such class that I was legit sad when the show ended.
I don't understand paying THAT MUCH MONEY to do anything besides be 100% in the moment with her. It makes no sense to me.
I'm literally listening to this album for the first time right now because of this haha. 1989 is next.
I'm a huge fan but she will never be able to top 21 imo. On 21 I listend all the way through but 25 had me skipping around a lot.
