Weren’t too many people outside of you and I in that thread who were confident this would be an absolute juggernaut.

As you said, she’s the James Cameron of releasing blockbuster albums.

 

I recall being baffled at how thoroughly people were underestimating her.

Catalog titles that sell little compared to the record that’s gonna sell a lot doesn’t seem like a big deal when I read it.

 

The catalog title thing isn’t that big of a deal (I misread it initially) but getting to press half a million double LPs while indie labels have to wait til 2023 really sucks

 

(Which again isn’t Adele’s fault)

 

Anyone know what the pressing runs were for, like, the Let It Be reissue or the Taylor's Version albums?

 

yeah its not ..... very shocking that Sony wants to make sure there are copies of this in every single store in America especially now that even places like Walmart are selling vinyl, but i just sucks that there's so many indies and smaller acts getting steamrolled here by pressing delays.

 

Maybe Sony should invest in their own pressing plant lol

as excited as i am for 30 and Red, artists of their calibre have the capacity to make money off of streaming and merch sales alone. there is absolutely no reason that a first pressing needs half a million copies. Adele will live. fuck capitalism, lol.

 

If the major labels are going to bet that big on vinyl, then they should absolutely be putting their money where their mouth is and taking steps to increase the number of vinyl presses and pressing plants in the U.S. and abroad. Especially because it sounds like Sony had to shaft some of their own artists to do this!
