She's honestly 4/4. I started Headphones On and at first I was like... ok cool chill nice, and then at like 3:00 it just absolutely vibes, really great by the end

Okay I know how dismissive this sounds but I just don’t understand how the music got this good. The two women writing and producing everything on this run are Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, who have solid credits but nothing wild. (Kloser has a credit on the new Ed Sheeran single.)

With the first three singles I was wondering if we are collectively falling for aesthetics, but in a vacuum I wanted to run back “Headphones On” like three times despite having this incredibly preformed (prejudiced) opinion of her (imo lack of) musical ability. I’m wondering if rich people just have access to a higher “floor” of writing/production than they used to and pop music is in a phase where that stuff doesn’t matter. Or maybe she’s constantly hanging out with cool musicians (seems like it) and they’re advising her well. Whatever it is, congrats to Rae for figuring it out.

have really enjoyed every song released plus her involvement in A.G. Cook’s “Lucifer” with Charli

Headphones On might be my favorite from her so far, I still don't think she's come out with anything truly fantastic but she's definitely getting better and better with each single. Diet Pepsi I still don't think is particularly great, it's like, passable, but the others have been getting better.

No I totally get it haha, it's a reasonable question. My guess is that she actually put time and work into crafting her music, and we know she is close with Charli, so it's reasonable to think that unlike other famous people who just crank out trash quickly, she gave it time and grew as an artist?

I can’t remember which one, but I heard a song of hers on the radio and was shocked it was her because of how good it was - I hadn’t heard anything she’s done before, but I knew her reputation, so I was very confused.

Maybe Diet Pepsi? That's the one I would expect to hear on the radio the most

honestly one of my favorite songs from last year. I said it before, and people didn't quite like it, but Diet Pepsi is the kind of music I wish Lana Del Rey would make instead of churning out the same thing over and over and over (aside from like 3 songs per album)

she wrote venice bitch. she has earned the right to make whatever music she wants after a song like that.

(obviously i know exactly what you mean, but most of her music still really works for me even if it's seldom exciting)

  19. Both as I assume having connections help + and most importantly, she has... taste!?

The amount of artists who are well off, have access to all kinds of producers and songwriters yet... put out stuff well below their capabilities is endless. Addison really seems to know what she's doing this time.

Funny enough I’ve seen Addison Rae do 2 different guest appearances. Last year for Charli XCX and last weekend for Arca
