Oh yeah no question. TBS were in the middle of an album cycle where the album hit #2 on the charts, the lead single was on the billboard top 40, and they were touring arenas. BN’s album at the time peaked at #31, had zero songs chart, and were touring House of Blues sized clubs.
It was petty as fuck, and pretty scummy to their fans. And yep they played Degausser twice and apparently played with zero enthusiasm

Is the Derrick that story’s about the one who had that band Sainthood Reps?

Almost got Sainthood Reps mixed up for a second with Shone, lol.

Speaking of Brand New and forgetfulness, I like how much of their lore and music had left my brain in the years since the original accusations came out. They were so important to me for so long, but a lot of those TDAG song titles had completely left my brain. Sucks to have some of it back, but good to know I’m able to let much of it fade away and move on. (Except when I gotta be like, “fuck, they’re back; reminder to everyone that they’re fucking creeps.”)

she wrote the piece as is of them flirting with all the girls at the party and BN and their management had the piece squashed and it was never published, that was in the book too. the entire article wasn't about that but it was sprinkled in i guess. they didn't wanna be seen as scumbags all over the girls/fans, but i back that multiple people said Brian was a nice guy and the rest of them were creepy. its all in that book, multiple times.

also i did the math, she was like 16 or 17 when he was 29, what the fuck, hanging with her and her family. uber weird. HUGE respect to Aiyana for sharing her story, that takes a lot out of someone, hopefully a weight is off her shoulders and the conversation can be furthered among other people that may be too scared to come forward with their stories.

Yeah, the age gap is absolute madness. Still in school and you’re early 30 is wild.

I find it very hard to believe that they dropped the suit to protect identities of individuals responsible for fake allegations and not because they didn't have enough evidence when this didn't stop them from proceeding

It was a clip of Mike from AAR talking shit on Brand New. Said everyone in the band, minus Brian, were pretentious dicks and about how his friend Derrick (Jesse’s cousin) used to play with them until Jesse slept with his fiancé.

Not to conspiracy theorize especially about a topic so sensitive but I thought it was interesting that when I tried to post the Medium article about Jesse on Facebook that it was immediately removed for “Spam”. Just a captionless post and the link and it was removed promptly by their spam filter.

I’ve never had that happen before on the platform and have shared plenty of links in the past but knowing they have a strong social media push for this tour would not be surprised if someone on their team is working behind the scenes to prevent the sharing of victim’s stories etc. especially if they are following this thread as above commenters mentioned.

FB probably just sees Medium and thinks it’s linking to an anti-genocide article. I don’t think Brand New has that kind of pull.
