The one consolation I have is that the tour stop closest to me is seemingly not selling well. There are multiple sections that look like this.

This about sums it up. What a piece of shit do you have to be to be like this, and for what?

I would be surprised. I would guess they had factored in “more might be coming” when they first started talking about getting back together and it didn’t phase them much.

They’ll do the cowardly thing and not acknowledge it and just depend on the audience they know they have continuing to not care.

There's way too much money involved in this for the tour dates to be moved, but everything else you mentioned – a personal private apology, financial donations, condemnation of fanbase retaliation – I think is within the realm of possibility, even if I would not call it likely. I hope that post you made get sent to the band's camp, somehow. I'm still stunned that all it took was one post from this website that got the Medium post spread. It could have so easily just got lost to the void for years. I didn't think this website had the influence.

I don't know if there are other women who would not be open to this method of restorative justice though, and bluntly, perhaps Jesse himself does not even remember every single person he's mistreated at this point. But I do believe that your story, and your specific demands, have given the band a lane to respond which they would not have considered before.

With 60k and growing views on my story, and 25k of those being Reddit, it is nearly impossible that this story has not reached Jesse and his team by now. It is also highly likely that PR folks are monitoring my every move in this forum.

I feel like how/if they respond will be very telling of whether Jesse actually has been working on himself through therapy or not. If he truly has spent the last over a decade acknowledging to himself and to Andrea how shitty of a person he was and worked towards being a better husband/human/father then I don't see how he can't respond or reach out. If he doesn't then it tells me and the world that all the work he's done is bullshit.

sadly, they made a decision when they chose to come back. he/they knew that there might be further people that come out.

they had the venues turn off comments, they scrubbed most of their social. they know exactly what they are doing and are choosing a way to handle this.

likely all the rest of us can do is to continue to not support them and speak out.

i truly hope you find some peace. you are incredibly brave. thank you.

I absolutely would not be surprised if there is truth to the documentary rumor. I'm no PR expert, but it feels like we are seeing very calculated efforts to rehab Jesse's image. He did those private LA fire charity shows a few months ago - people love a little altruism. And then he got on stage at his solo show a few weeks ago and spoke about the loss of his son and the heaviness of grief. Which, yes, is tragic but then again he's profiting off of getting on stage and talking about it. Feels icky but people on Reddit ate it up.

My guess is the team planned a course of action for what they would do if any more victims came forward. And I don't think they will make the type of restorative statement the victims deserve. Nothing thus far has indicated they are interested in having conversations that aren't self-serving.

It's difficult to wrap my brain around the fact that people could look at Aiyana's post and try to dismiss the very blatant evidence that he engaged in absolutely vile behavior. My heart hit my stomach when I saw those family photos. It shouldn't take that sort of evidence to convince people (because Emily's evidence is valid and Nicole's evidence is valid and there should be no need to convince in the first place) but I sincerely hope it causes some folks to examine their own morals about what it means to support the abused vs the abuser.

@aiyana91 I can't imagine the fortitude it must have taken to write and submit that post. If you haven't heard it yet today, you are a badass and you have the unwavering support of this internet stranger.

Just spent some time with that site....one of the questions says "does someone leave without saying goodbye" and I legit thought it was asking if someone leaves the house without saying goodbye to the dog/pet....still not something Id think a trigger warning is needed for but I donno

I feel like this brand new situation may be a good example of how we can hold folks accountable. Celebs like Kanye West seem fairly out of reach, but a band like brand new, idk, talking friends and acquaintances out of going, Jason not having a BN discussion thread, and sharing the Medium story seems like it does have more impact. And maybe it won't cause the tour to be cancelled or stop the band from making profits ultimately, but I feel like it does make a difference. I hope at the least it does hit their ego that their comeback isn't as widely celebrated as it otherwise would have been. Maybe I'm naive and just live in my lil bubble and of course I do wish the band was being held more accountable, and I hope the momentum continues and results in more happening, but what has happened so far isn't nothing and it's cool to see the solidarity at least on here

That's why I always kinda rolled my eyes at the argument of "why are you so obsessed with Brand New and not Aerosmith who is actually creepy."

Like, what impact can Chorus.FM have on Steven Tyler's life vs. a semi-real and tangible impact Chorus can have on people like Lacey or JJR or Harry Corrigan or whatever.

It’s not even an argument. It’s an argument-shaped stick that they’re swinging at people trying to have the actual discussion. It’s meant to to disrupt, distract, deflect, and discourage conversation, not to convince.

Maybe because I don’t really care about Aerosmith. They are fine when I see them in Wayne’s World or that roller coaster, but I loved brand new.
