To add, putting it in a thread separated from the rest of the threads and just letting them do their thing in there ignored is as good as tolerating it and encouraging it

 

we've already established why a BN thread isn't appropriate for this site. and the level of moderation required to maintain a thread where people can only talk critically of BN probably isn't worth it, and still opens up the possibility of people entering to talk positively about them.

 

How can you say that? They drag that shit in here bc there’s nowhere to talk about it. While I understand the difficulty, I completely disagree with @Jason Tate rationale to not just make a thread. It’s about to get way worse. And while I find this thread 90% useful most of the time, if this doesn’t end, it’s going to get even worse over the coming months.

 

They do not have some kind of “right” to talk about a specific band on this website? I don’t see that point at all. Go to Reddit. Go to Facebook or Twitter. Start a discord.

 

Saw something in the comments of Brand New related things on Twitter that Oli Sykes (BMTH) married his current wife when she was 19 and he was 30. They met a year and a half earlier when she was modeling for his clothing company.

unfortunately i live in a college town so there are a lot of undergrads and what i'm assuming are students from wealthier families who drive Teslas or sports cars, and more often than not, they're the assholes on the road. but you're also in PA too, so i wouldn't be surprised if you see it with other drivers/car models.

I’m very much anti-BN. If it’s about this thread getting derailed, that’s fair, but your post doesn’t help that either.

 

I've never really paid much attention to him or his band, but there's definitely a pattern there with his first wife being older than his current wife. I remember the stories about him being unfaithful and abusive towards the first wife, so I guess the solution is to just find someone younger who is even more naive.

When the band first started it was a big story that he urinated on a girl and that he and the rest of the band assaulted her, didn't even know about anything that's happened since but yeah seems like more of the same

Then my recommendation would be to start your own website and moderate the Brand New thread you create over there however you want. I've made a decision for now and explained in detail why I don't want to cover or talk about the band.

On a day when someone shared a story on Instagram with a photo of them at 16 and Jesse at 29 and said (paraphrasing) "how about everyone buying a ticket return it and give me money for therapy," I'm sorry, but I have no patience for this discussion anymore. You finding it a little more difficult to scroll through some posts in a thread isn't a good enough argument for me.

Have a rotating list of users who are able to dunk on the losers each day. That way we weed out the million posts, and we can filter out the posters who are bad at it.
