I will always squeeze a little Miele into my Cafecito, if/when coffee shops have a bottle or packets resting there by the Leches.

Sick of people crying for good faith conversation without first denouncing what Jesse allegedly did

This thread has ruined the word "nuance" because whenever some fucking dweeb claims to want that, it's always just a codeword for "I want to do mental gymnastics to make myself feel okay for supporting predators" and I'm tired of it. Fuck your "nuance", fuck Brand New, and fuck you if you financially support them.

I'm also sick of people acting like they deserve the chance to see Brand New because an album changed their life or saved them.

First, question what the subject matter of those song really are. I can never listen to Quiet Things again without thinking it's about a minor.

Second, they were easily my favorite band. And you know what? I haven't listened to a single song since this all came out. See my first point.

I don't begrudge people for still listening but simply refusing to acknowledge Jesse's actions and then also using their personal experience as a reason to ignore all of that - yeah, you can fuck right off.

"Nuance" is the same as "do your own research" in this context.

I think the actual "nuance" is the conversation about continuing to listen to problematic artists who's music you have a strong emotional connection to, and resolving that either personally or with other people experiencing similar feelings, all with the basic understanding/agreement that continuing to support said artist financially is inherently wrong. And, I think that conversation has been had in this thread and elsewhere on these boards for many years, and will continue to be had.

The "nuance" is not "let's talk ourselves into feeling like maybe it's okay to buy their records and see their shows."

It still galls me that his response to my questioning was "none of your business", because if he really wanted nuanced discussion about the subject in good faith, then his feelings aren't just important, it's completely the fucking point. Without that, there is nothing to legitimately discuss.

    Newbie

Jesse is gross AF, as are a major amount of actors and musicians. And they can all kick rocks.

But the commentary in this thread is pretty gross too to this guy.

Come flame me too, don't really care. I enjoy this thread for what it calls out, but times like these...nah.

Going to do a check on the houses in here to make sure they aren't made of glass.

About time someone hit these Chorus.fm fools with the “But you listening to and supporting Fall Out Boy is OK, right?” checkmate.

Such a weird argument to make. People being hypocrites (and I'm not saying anyone is) doesn't make what's being said less correct. You don't get to talk freely about giving a pedophile money and say it's because someone else is listening to an abuser. That's moon logic.

Also my house is for sure not made of glass, except the fiberglass insulation. The windows are also glass. But the house is not made out of it.

  24. I literally listen to problematic artists all the time, I just don't fucking talk about it or make excuses for it or give them money lol. Anyone getting dog-piled in here is because they had an insatiable need to tell on themselves. If you're reading this, I promise you don't have to announce your loyalty to bad people! You can just keep that shit to yourself like a normal person!

not encouraging listening to Brand New, but goddamn people!
