uh, yeah, I’m down with the clown Supporter

Part of me wants to be like, why is this topic returning in this thread (instead of, say, the bad opinion thread).

But also, it’s certainly better than continuing Brand New talk, so.

Yeah. I think wearing a band’s shirt to their show, however generic and mass produced it may be, and listening to said band before and after the show is fine. And if anything, it’s cornier to actually care.

I typically where the jersey of a similar but ultimately inferior team. In this way I show my true fandom bona fides for the team I am actually there to see but do not wish to publicize.

When I go see the Reds play the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, I wear Dodgers gear to protect my life. Is that ok.

Every person should just wear the same bland gray jumpsuit everyday and at all events. Solves the problem.

This is a dumb use of this thread and I'm sorry I started it with the joke about Kanye wearing his own swastika merch

Sorry to derail this conversation, but I really liked Where Are Your Boy Tonight, but I didn't know much about Say Anything. Started listening to SA after, and now I'm extremely annoyed that the author painted a narrative of Bemis as some kind of progressive icon only to find out later he wrote lyrics like “My people were slaves before yours invented hip hop”. Not to mention everything I've learned about Bemis' family situation.

Yup, "Died a Jew." Came out in 2007. Also, does he not know Black Jewish people exist? Whole song is weird.

I don’t really know when the interviews were done and the writing. But I recall thinking when I read it when it came out that the worst of his antics weren’t as public as they were then and especially now.

nothing wrong with that. they paid to have a good time and financially support the band. more power to them.

good Lord that's ridiculous. my only exposure to Say Anything was listening to IDTII and Oliver Appropriate when they came out, so i wasn't aware of any controversies prior to that
