Where Is Your Boy Tonight had a really weird cognitive dissonance for me at times when I read it last year because it was clearly written post-Brand New and pre-Saves the Day, because the praise of STD rung really hollow on this side of it with all the rightful criticism of Brand New alongside it. Otherwise, I also thought it was a fantastic book.

It is a very good book and I thought they addressed BN about as well as you could have. Some obvious allusion to how important/good the music was without going overboard, some people shitting on the music, and some people talking about...well, the bad stuff. I forget the exact things that were said but I thought it was done as well as could be.

Yeah they basically spend the entire intro as well saying “We believe victims and am sorry that we have to cover them, but it’s impossible to tell the story without covering them”. They apologize to the family’s and everything. They did a great job. They also don’t go to any length’s to make BN look good. They make them out to be pretty sketchy guys at the very least.

I started reading it last week - three chapters in and really liking it. Sellout was great too (sorry to turn this into the book thread)

YESSSSS. Stand up on the way home, 100%! Helps keep me awake too when I'm making those late night drives for out of town shows. Haha.

This was my thought. "Oh Trump's in charge again? Sexual predators can be anything we want to be, let's go get that monayyy!"

    Gross.

Honestly, there's been enough discourse about what a disappointing person JL is, but now that they're presumably "back" (which was always inevitable), I think I'm even more disappointed in the other band members. They've never acknowledged any of this, and they're just jumping back in with both feet without doing so. To hell with all of 'em.

The not wearing a band shirt to the show you're going to is a given, but where the fuck did this 'not listening to the band you're going to see on your way to the show' come from?

legitimately do not give a fuck about wearing a band's shirt at their show. people want to represent the band they like, regardless if you're wearing a shirt you already bought before the show or if you buy one there. the band doesn't care and the audience probably doesn't care either.

    Things have changed.

We're all gonna die soon so just wear whatever you want and listen to whatever you want on the way to the show.

you gotta listen to nothing otw to the show to have a fresh pallet. in between sets you also need to freshen your pallet.

Everyone knows you’re supposed to put in AirPods on noise canceling and listen to this in between bands.

The "wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see" thing...

It's so wild that a throwaway line from a box office bomb of a comedy starring Jeremy Piven, Jon Favreau, David Spade and a singer from Hepcat from like, 30 years ago has stood the test of time. LOL

EDIT: Also just seeing that Alex from Hepcat was in this movie too.

I used to be a stickler about not wearing a band's shirt to their show. These days? I'm definitely in agreeance with this post. Viva la nihilism.

Thinking about when I saw blink last year and over half the crowd was wearing different blink shirts. No one cares in real life lol

I went to a Nile show last weekend. I wore my 2016 Nile tour shirt and listened to the exact setlist in a playlist all week. Go touch grass

What about when a band plays their own songs at their concert
