I’m not necessarily saying Trump is directly related. But it’s pretty clear they’re doing this now because it’s built up to this point that there are absolutely no consequences and in fact, there’s giant fan bases in the scene that will look the other way and give you a ton of money while doing it (see: Ronnie Radke, All Time Low, Saves The Day). There’s simply no accountability and now is clearly the time to book the shows, print the merch and get the bag.

I do not doubt the Lacey’s family’s grief. I’ve seen families torn apart after losing a kid. No one should go through that.

That said, I have never seen it manifest in getting the boys back together for some promo shots for the AXS tour announcement to make a ton of money off of tickets and merch. And even if the grief angle is absolutely true, there’s no reason to believe anything Jesse says since he’s proven, in his words and that press release “apology,” that he will use whatever manipulative framing he can to make himself the one to pity. As others have said, if music is his way of grieving, then just do the intimate, invite-only stuff, make your money and fuck off to wherever.

Because even in their cancellation, the band has continued to have a steady stream of money coming in from merch and album sales. They don’t need to do this. They’re just craven people who see that the screaming idiots who shouted down victims are louder than the people that want some kind of accountability.

this whole thing reminds me of when Ryan Adams's manager dropped him after saying he didn't care about accountability. i think it applies here.

well shit, egg on my face. shoutout to digital billboards masquerading as news sites. regardless, still pretty buried and leading with sympathy before even the real news that they reunited. i expect the dead kid to be the common rationalization for anyone supporting them.

John // OC now, OH forever.

I'm sure his wife told him to play live again, but it's pretty reprehensible to jump on stage and address his stepson's passing while never truly acknowledging the real reason why he stopped playing shows long before that tragedy. It's just easier to use that as a shield knowing anyone who criticizes it looks like a real piece of shit.

He wrote a lot about being a terrible partner too.

Lol the camp trash dude who helped silence motropers victim has something to say. Trying to posture yourself as an ally as an excuse to get your dunks in on a band is the lamest shit ever, especially when youve shown yourself to be a pos

He’s always been annoying, but he at the very least occasionally used his platform to put on lesser known bands. Calling the MT victim calling a liar, going radio silence after tweeting 24/7 and then immediately going back to the dude? Scumbag for life

I think @St. Nate ’s post is pretty spot on, have a thread to let people discuss the music and have serious discussions about their own thoughts and etc, and have it be heavily moderated to remove all the shitheads. If Nate’s willing to do it, I say let him haha. I’d even volunteer to help but I don’t know how much help I’d be.

Really shitty it seems like they’re not going to try and address anything. Like others have said in here, I kind of hate that I’m curious. But so far my stance hasn’t changed—if they release new music, I’m almost certain to acquire it illegally and see if I like it. If I do, I’ll continue to listen to it, if not I’ll delete it. I have no desire to support them financially via buying music/merch/tickets. A far cry from 2017 when I was refreshing sale screens at 11:59 AM.

And yeah holy shit the Reddit is embarrassing. I don’t get being that…I don’t even know the word besides “weird”…over the band knowing what happened. If you’re happy they’re back cool I guess but like, can’t you just quietly enjoy it? Lol idk

They sounded great when I saw them on two different occasions. Doesn’t change anything, of course. 2006 and 2007 were a very long time ago now.

i saw them on a number between 02 and 10 and their live show was always *womp womp*. albums were pretty good though.

Not sure if this is the best thread to talk about this, but I saw them five times and they were always great. Maybe they put in extra effort for their hometown New York shows, especially at places as legendary as MSG.
