I hate that I still get curious about the band honestly. Like I asked a twitter account if the posted shows were full band or just Jesse again and who was playing in that band if so. It's like my lizard brain couldn't stop me from being curious as if it was 2016 again. Felt kind of gross for even wondering even if there's no intention of supporting them again.

Seems like this band in question is in fact back which is shocking.

He must have literally just taken that down over the weekend. I was just on it last week when all the rumors started popping up.

i feel this way a bit too.

but, i think i'm more interested in seeing people's reactions to it and holding on to hope that people will not go to the shows. i will be wrong about that though.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Agree with this sentiment 100%. I'd rather spend my energy focusing on bands that actually matter nowadays than whatever the hell this is. It's just not worth it.

I don't think you need to feel bad for being curious about the band/watching the live video/listening to their old stuff. You should feel bad if you're being a weirdo online about them or harassing victims or giving them money to continue touring, though.

Trying to find a gif of that scene in BTAS where Harley calls Ivy "Poison Oakley".

The internet has failed me. Also I'm at work and Googling "Harley and Ivy" has at least some percentage of being risqué.

  12. One thing's for sure, it's great to log on and see people being completely normal in this thread again today :) now to catch up on the next two pages...

  13. Eh, not as bad as I expected in here tbh. The subreddit is, as expected, an absolute cesspool. Jason already explained it better than I can, but ideally, I would love a place on this site for people to be able to have a rational conversation about a band that meant the world to a lot of us and how Jesse's actions recontextualized a lot of things that we held dear. Time and time again, between this thread and news posts, it's been proven that this cannot seem to happen. Vocal fans of this band have a very specific brainworm that keeps them from being normal about it. Any attempt to moderate a thread like that is legitimately going to be a full-time job. So unless we legitimately want to hand it off to @St. Nate , to whom I would say be my guest, I think the conversation is going to have to stay in here.

That being said, I don't think we need a post every time someone in their subreddit posts something insane or starts a rumor about when they're releasing new music, etc. We should post about them. the same way we post about 90% of musicians in here - if they do something worth posting about, or if there's a relevant discussion about platforms, (lack of) restorative justice, etc. Literally the least we can do to keep maintain everyone's sanity.

Considering nothing fucking matters and powerful people are rewarded for being monsters and having zero morals, it's fitting this is the perfect moment for this fucking band to resurface. I'm good on them.

Truly the only thing bringing me a hint of solace in all of this is knowing how much they have to fucking hate what they've become. Just another legacy act selling out for a quick paycheck.

Considering what kind of fan I used to be, and my wife telling me last week that she saw he was playing a show this past weekend, her question was, "How do you feel about this?"

I feel weird. I feel weird simultaneously being curious and upset, but then immediately remembering why I feel any weirdness at all. Told my wife that it doesn't matter what I feel. I'm not one of his victims, and they're the only ones with opinions that matter. Recompense, forgiveness, becoming a better person... None of it fucking matters on the scale of my thoughts. They don't get to "separate the art from the artist" and neither do I, and that's a stupid premise anyway, because the art is the artist.

I think both of their allegations came out the same week. Birds of a feather!

John // OC now, OH forever.

It's a damn shame that their name is so generic or I'd suggest treating it like a slur, but I don't really want to see articles about a band's ***** *** album.

Not to be too galaxy brained, but this just feels like when they announced we no longer needed masks and then, a ton of people stopped wearing them, but this time, it’s sex offenders, traffickers, pedos, etc.

Trump is back and there are no consequences. Tate brothers are back, the SNL 50 special had a rogues gallery of creeps, Louis has a new tour and this just really puts a cap on it. Seemingly any movement made by Me Too, minus Harvey and R. Kelly, has been rolled back or gotten worse. Truly, tough to feel any kind of hope, except for the artists with integrity willing to speak out.

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned that bands I still love are going to tour with known artists that don't deserve any sort of spotlight.

I'm keeping a close eye on it, and am prepared to purge more bands from my listening habits when/if it happens.
