well it doesn't matter, because they defended him and would rather break up than actually acknowledge it. that's the problem. that's on all of their hands regardless of if the abuser is in the band

Never heard of this band or situation nor do I know what he did, but the quote on that AP article from the band is absolutely shocking and the tweets just really compound things.

I'm trying to see if I can find an archived version or screencap. This was one that I was pretty actively involved in talking about on AP, but unfortunately I'm not seeing anything to pull from my twitter on this.

The better off thing still made its away around quite a bit surprisingly. My older brother even knew about it without me having to tell him and he doesn't follow this stuff closely at all

 

Rereading that statement made me irrationally angry all over again.

 

yeah, this one seems like if you knew the band or the scene you sort of knew about this. since bands made statements, it got coverage, and they got hammered for that statement.

i just think the excuse that the dude not being involved anymore basically neglects the reason for the band getting shit in the first place

Aaaaaagh thank you for posting this. Not only because it needs to be mentioned again in this current discussion but because I am positive this is the situation I was looking for a little while ago in relation to Cheap Girls. The giant thread about this was definitely where Ian got brought up. Wish it still existed.

I’m a little surprised by how many people are supporting the new music.

I knew the Nashville scene wasn’t going to say a word but members of bands like Sleep on It and Jetty Bones have dropped likes/RTs/etc on it.
