People can change indeed! Years ago I didn't want to hear shit about Brand New, and now, many years later, I REALLY don't wanna hear shit about Brand New! #change

 

it comes in here bc the bands actual thread was locked

 

I wonder why

 

not saying it wasn’t without reason but there are obviously many members here who still listen and connect w the band and wish to discuss the happenings around them so whether the bands thread exists or not is not stopping it from happening

 

Oh well thank god someone explained it to us. I wasn't sure after the last several years of this shit.

 

If we don’t have a BN thread where will I be able to be called a cuck by a user that signed up 20 minutes ago

 

just make a Lacey Tracker thread for the devoted warriors imo

 

Or you could just discuss it on Reddit like everyone else?

 

Well the awareness hasn’t led to any actions and just more posting which leads to more complaining

and if there were an actual thread you could just avoid it and then not have to be bothered by seeing those posts

 

I can also avoid it by people not talking about them and not needing to talk about bands from 15 years ago or however long

 

@Maddy if you haven’t, read through the comments on the recent news post about JL. There’s been discussion of allowing more open conversation about BN, but that thread showed that a lot of random users come out of the woodwork and it turns messy quickly. People can’t be normal about them. So, don’t expect it.

 

Sure but that clearly isn’t going to happen as you can tell from your frustrations in dealing w it for the last 15 years or however long

 

I haven’t really though, things have been good. UNTIL a news thread was made about it where the most predictable thing happened, which hadn’t before then because the BN thread was locked. Hope this helps

 

this is sadly a Very fair point …I really haven’t read through everything but I can imagine based on other comments I’ve seen in the past…just thought it’d help to make things more civil in the long run

 

I didn’t know you hadn’t seen that thread but yeah that’s the main reason

 

“Talking” about this band will probably never be civil, which we’ve learned time and time again once any singular crumb of news comes out.

Listening to them in your own private space, which many have done for the last decade, is probably the most realistic way to approach it. Opening a thread (even with good intentions) will never have the desired outcome anybody wants, and would just lead to some unnecessary stress, name calling, finger pointing, weirdness, and just doesn’t seem worth it lol

 

The irony about this thread is that you get all the updates on problematic bands so just stay here. Any updates will be discussed and inadvertently advertised.

I mean this thread by design is going to solicit news updates when they do stuff. If you’d like to take that news and run with whatever it is in a positive manner, go to reddit. Seems to be popping off there. Otherwise, I don’t see the point of taking the conversation further.

 

I don’t think it’s posting about BN in here that’s the problem. It’s that we’ve been having the same back and forth conversation like every fucking month for years. Nothing new has been said that hasn’t been said every other time there’s a bit of news about them. And we’ll do this again in a month. They’ll either reunite officially or they won’t. We don’t have to have the same word for word arguments every time Jesse plays a show. That’s not an update, it’s just fanning the flame.
