Yeah, it's a horrible mess. Just thought it would be a good thing to update in the thread since this was brought up in the thread a couple of months back.

 

Feel horrible for Evan Rachel Wood, among others who will feel discouraged by the Manson news. Victims deserve better.

 

I hope Evan and the other victims have a good support system around them to comfort and just be there for them through this difficult time

 

If this happens it's absolutely because Ronnie wants to "offend" people and hatred and not from a genuine place of wanting to work with him, it's all he's been operating on to get successful for the last few years now. He's always been a hateful piece of shit but FiR's most recent album cycle has really shown he can capitalize on it and make his band popular sadly

That being said even if it was from a genuine place that obviously still sucks because fuck MM

 

100%, Ronnie has unfortunately managed to market hate and controversy into his favour and it's paid off, so he just leans into it more and more. The stans just lap it up without question and, even worse, defend and encourage it.

The whole 'Popular Monster' album just backs that up too. Every song on there is about being "cancelled", misunderstood, the "woke mind virus", etc. and even just the album title itself sticks to that.

Would it be too much of a stretch to say this is the closest thing to the alt scene's MAGA?

 

As more and more celebs turn to this tactic to boost engagement, how do we collectively ignore them?

Would probably side-eye those things more if either seemed to be a consistent pattern of behavior. Regardless, not sure why any of us would feel the need to Hold Someone Accountable for being rude or having a messy personal situation. People have bad days and do dumb things sometimes. And this is coming from someone who isn't even a big fan lol

There are much bigger fish to fry.

 

yeah, i don't wanna sound like an old man shouting at clouds, but there are soooooo many other things worth calling out, and focusing on *checks notes* ...Lucy being rude to a waiter a couple times feels like looking for the most miniscule things to be offended by, and probably stems from someone looking for a reason to cancel her

 

doesn’t impact me enjoying her music one bit, but does it make me think she might be difficult person to please in a service position, probably.

theres so many nice people out there who don’t understand how to properly engage with service staff and not come off rude.

hopefully she still tips 20% ha.

 

i mean i don't disagree, it is easy to be nice to service workers. but this rumor was supposedly based off of a single TikTok comment, and like Aaron said, who knows if that was a one-off situation where she was having a bad day or two or a pattern of repeated behavior? it's not great if it's true, but it's nothing more than a rumor

 

Or it could be someone making shit up because these fandoms are crazy with hating each other and trying to get other artists cancelled over the dumbest shit. It’s insane.
