and kanye supports someone that actually beat a woman. he put him on his album.

you keep saying there's a racial component to supporting a serial rapist

Kanye has said fucked up shit about Cosby, Trump, Tyga, and had R. Kelly and Chris Brown on albums. These are all problems, this shit should be talked about, how he has enabled abuse by normalizing it and lifting up abusers is a serious issues that he's shown to not take seriously by his pattern of behavior. These are very valid reasons to stop listening to Kanye, and valid things to be aware of even if they don't cross your personal threshold of who not to listen to.

But there are levels of this shit, and saying he's equivalent to someone who actually committed abusive acts is disingenuous. Saying he's equivalent to other pop punk dudes who ignored abusive people cause they were "friends" or some shit, yeah that's fair.

The Chris Brown and R Kelly associations are also reasons to be against Chance, dude has lifted up R Kelly on multiple occasions and is on that same song with Chris Brown. He's never brought up in these convos.

Naked Kim Kardashian Triggers Kanye West Domestic Violence: Is Yeezy the New Chris Brown?
They went outside, and Kanye pushed Alexis into some bushes with all his force. She was wearing a t-shirt and she got cuts and scratches everywhere and was bleeding. She was crying. But he just left her there. He got in his car and drove away.

pretty sure i know who you are and im not sure why youre making things this dramatic

its been a bad few weeks on this site for a lot of us in a lot of different threads. growing pains and educating and trying to find out how exactly we are supposed to go about dealing with these things. your last few posts in here come across as "im more woke than yall, hypocrites!" and thats certainly not helping anyone either. felix from told slant had a great tweet about this scene and how sometimes these things can be more for the SAKE of wanting to look like you care than actually genuinely caring about victims or the toxicity in this scene and the music industry in general

these are all worthwhile conversations to have and so far its been pretty civil

  6. Ironic how some are so quick to give Kanye a chance but if a pop-punk/emo/scene band were in the same position they'd be instantly cancelled. Hold all musicians to the same accountability standards you set.

i saw it and do believe that tweet defines many of you. the posts today make me think many didn't take to heart what it was saying. i am not woke, that is why I don't understand how so many people can be such hypocrites about these things. the people that are acting like they are woke are the ones doing all kinds of harmful stuff. you bullied a user a few weeks ago and now say i am being dramatic. a user quit the website today because peopel were making fun of him. this website is not a place for people to learn and grow because of so many of the people in this thread that act like this and do these things. you bully people for listening to state champs and support kanye west in teh same thread. i' mnot woke i just don't understand.

i am also confused because it feels like people in here are saying "oh you guys are only favoring artists you like!" when i've definitely shown a history of going after pretty much any artist, from those i don't like to some of my favorites

  10. Yeah, and I see people give Kanye the benefit of the doubt but as soon as another abuser's statement cites mental health they're still instantly shut down. It's just inconsistent.

you liked the post asking if someone read the last few pages. the last page is you doing just what that person was saying. giving benift of the doubt in your own words for things you would never otherwise do

kanye hasn't actually abused anyone though? he's shown some support for some shitty people

i have held rappers accountable for actions. i have held pop punk/emo people accountable for their actions.

i have also said what kanye has done is problematic, i am not ignoring that, i just think context matters and i personally don't think he should be "cancelled' because of that

  15. Poor word choice, but it just seems hypocritical because if someone like Modern Baseball had done the same you would instantly shut them down, regardless of mental health.

  18. So that's not a reputable site, but an anonymous reddit user somehow is?

can you explain the harsh words you've had for so many people on this website for listening to bands or wanting to talk about bands that have done far less than defending rapists and domestic abusers? nothing you write here is context to explain how so many of you have treated other people directly or with likes on other people's posts while now acting like this is ok

please give examples of bands that have done less than defend rapists and domestic abusers? and please give examples of when i have talked down someone specifically who hasn't victim blamed

this is exactly the opposite argument you made and posts you liked making that argument about an anonymous tumblr post a few weeks ago

  22. I've definitely been taken down for supporting artists that I have good reason to, so to see the same people make excuses for others who've done much worse is sickening.

can you give me a reason for why you think i am being open for the artist in this situation but not open in others? because there must be a reason i am being more lenient for kanye, right?
