Yeah there's a lot they could have tapped into. The Hush Sound, Avril (she did only make a guest appearance at this year's), Juliet Simms, Tsunami Bomb, Tegan and Sara...

 

Part of the problem is y2k nostalgia feels a little weird because a lot of that era was shitty and Warped Tour was so problematic

 

They could have done with asking a lot more (bands with) non-men to show up, that's for damn sure. I also don't know how half those albums are gonna be performed in full with everyone on the bill, looks like a shitshow waiting to happen

 

There aren’t that many bands with non-men to ask because the scene was incredibly toxic, misogynistic, and openly predatory. A few existing is a miracle with how bad things were back then. A fest like this does reveal how much progress has been made, but the shitty nature of the scene at the time looks all the more obvious.

 

Tsunami bomb only if Emily came back.

Tonight Alive, besides just being cool all around, is also cool for getting Corey Taylor to appear on a pop-punk album.

 

They were getting a lot of criticism on Reddit and X so I’m glad they are at least doing something.

Hey Monday, too. This is rad.

 

It’s great that they are responding to the criticism and adding non-male acts to play, but it does suck it had to get to the point of being majorly called out for them to realize hey maybe we need to diversify this festival more. I guess that plays into the era they are going for and how often non-males were seen as an afterthought though.

 

It sucks, but at least led to some correction on their end, which can hopefully lead to the mistake not being made again.

I don't think Tonight Alive have been active at all for a significant period of time, so it's cool they're coming back together.
