Goddamn northeast Ohio. Between Mccafferty and Heart Attack Man, just a breeding ground for problematic edgelords.

I highly doubt the “vast majority” of any band’s fans are queer.

I'm talking specifically about their twitter fans. most of the fans I see them interact with on twitter aren't straight, to the point it's a stereotype in the fan base, which leads to interactions like this

So many of my friends are into HAM and I've just never been able to get into them, and the social media presence plays into that a lot. Maybe it's because I'm just turning into an old grumpy lady, but it just seems really juvenile to be like that on social media*

Very few people can pull off un-PC humor and those who don’t really don’t.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean, considering there are definitely plenty of acts out there who cater/speak to a predominately queer audience. Julien Baker comes to mind immediately as one such example, but there are definitely a lot out there.

First off, let me apologize for that post. It was worded in a weird and insensitive way, and that was not my intention. I’m sorry.

I guess what I was trying to convey (which very well could be wrong, and I’m very open to being corrected and/or educated) was that I would find it very hard to believe that a band like Heart Attack Man, who to my understanding are a pretty regular, run of the mill pop punk band, would cater to a predominantly queer audience. This could be wrong. I admittedly checked out on them pretty quickly when I became aware of their socials. Perhaps I have an incorrect view of this band or pop-punk in general. I’m pretty tuned out on it all in 2022.

I shouldn’t have said “any band” (or artist), because Julien Baker (and many others now that I’ve actually given it some thought and not typed out my gut reaction to the statement I was responding to) is a great example of an act that does that exactly that.

I guess I just don’t perceive Heart Attack Man as being one that fits into that category, and it made me a little uncomfortable to see that statement being made in response to them using borderline slurs. I know now that user wasn’t trying to defend them, but I initially perceived it that way. That’s on me.

Once again, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I don’t know if I should leave my last post up or not, but for now, I’m going to for accountability and educational (the responses to said post) purposes.

Back in 2012 he did a set during our uni freshers and i met him afterwards and he couldn’t have made it clearer that he only had an interest in talking to specifically the black women who were there. Super, super creepy.

Fuck this venue. I saw mewithoutYou there for the A-B Life anniversary tour and their employees were literally attacking crowd members for getting even a little rowdy. Like, if anyone was doing anything other than standing dead fucking still, a security guard would come and fight them. It got physical a couple times, each time the Blind Tiger staff are who attacked first.

  21. Jonny jumped on that quick lol. I hope it really was accidental, I guess you never know, but Radiohead also hasn't given me any indication in the past that they subscribe to anything particularly harmful, so hopefully that remains the case.

I was also at that show and can confirm.

Not to mention they violated COVID shutdown protocols during the early stages of the pandemic and just reopened after being shut down for city code violations
