Yeah, I don’t think anyone in the bands (AF, Cerce) deserve any malice. It just seemed peculiar to me.

However fuck the Middle East. They were threatening law suits against bands that were making posts when their situation came to light. Personally I couldn’t work there with them being willing to fuck over musicians so easily. But I see where you’re coming from when you say fuck capitalism cause they probably need the checks.

oh yeah, i 100% agree and i questioned alex a while ago when all this stuff first came out and he said that they were doing the work to get this guy removed from the safe space area, so it's odd to hear he's still around...

Could be possible. Do you think if it were a band other than the headliner they would wait this long to say anything about it?

i think that potentially they're trying to figure out if they can feasibly even do this reunion without old gray

also for some reason i missed out on the whole hour of posts about pinegrove but that definitely reshapes the situation. always feel uneasy when it's not the wishes of the victim that are dictating the situation...

I mean, if you're gonna toss a vague 5 paragraph puff post, you gotta realize you're just fanning the flames, no?

It’s also blatantly untrue, based on what I’ve heard from multiple sources.

if the victim was fine with evan continuing to play shows, but was forced to push for this, why should we have reacted the way this is? that paragraph he put in his statement about "looking at fans like sex objects" sounds like something right out of a therapy session, which sounds like he was told to put that in by the person who apparently was trying to take him down. i don't know, this all makes me very uncomfortable on so many angles. it's hard to know what is true regarding this and what was done by sheridan

back when we were doing the safer scene thing, I quickly became disillusioned with this brand of accountability process- from seeing how other "similar" organizations and their- for lack of a better word- followers operate, what they care about and how they execute upon it, it left an uncomfortable taste. seeing here that PT was behind these call outs and that the victims themselves weren't completely onboard just really rubs me the wrong way. I have the impression that this brand of accountability catches on because of its element of hollywood-style drama, not always because there's a legitimate concern to promote safety and accountability within "the scene".

it's a weird thought to hash out because assuming someone's motives, especially over the internet, and *especially* when it comes to something really important that touches so many people, and also because so many people do really care about accountability- but I can't help but feel this. like you have people creating google docs of "bands you shouldn't listen to" or people going from person to person in line at a concert telling them cam's a rapist, or people who throw these "ya from what ****i*** heard this person is bad, but i'm not gonna elaborate" and I'm just struggling to find out who's really benefiting from this aside from the people who are just really into the excitement they get from this stuff.

Protecting the sender's identity for obvious reasons, but this was the message I received about Evan.

i would never call out a specific person for just being interested in drama because you really cant know someones motives but that punk talks email pretty much confirms there are at least some people who are going about it that way

I really hope there’s an actual investigation done into this company. That statement had no real substance and it sounds like there are tons of people who know for a fact they are lying about who does their therapy.

curious to see if any of their board members say anything, as a lot of them are very respected people in the community (seth from topshelf, marisa from mannequin pussy, a person that books for fest, etc).

I have experienced a lot of wild shit in the past few years as an "activist" or whatever in this scene, but this really takes the cake. You want to talk about further stigmatizing therapy as a solution? How about making it seem like you can't trust anyone to keep your sessions confidential.

it was also super interesting to me that on PT's website every band they list as bands they've worked with is all dudes. and it's not even because of popularity, some of those bands on there are definitely smaller than other bands with women i think they've worked with

It’s totally horrifying. I’m shocked none of this has come out until now, and who knows how many people have been hurt or compromised already.
