Hedley were huge in Canada for a number of years, and I’d always heard stories about him being a creep. Hopefully he’s convicted

 

Anyone here know what type of jail/prison time he's looking at? I'm unfamiliar with Canada's laws, and I'd assume they're somewhat different than that of the US.

 

Depends on what type he is charged with. From what I read, he pleaded not guilty at his preliminary hearing to sexual assault causing bodily harm and sexual interference.

The former has no minimum sentence for a first offender and carries a maximum sentence of 14 years, the latter a minimum of 90 days and a maximum of 2 years less a day.

 

Sam Patt, who was in the band Belmont and was removed due to sexual assault/misconduct allegations (among other issues like repeatedly telling women to kill themselves) involving him, is now working with the band again. Seems like this band just can’t keep him away even though there’s numerous creepy/gross stories out there about him.

Also this is the band that just recently (since shows came back during covid) went on tour with TMP. None of this is a great look.

 

Not trying to carry water for Belmont at all, I'm firmly on the Fuck Balmont train, but I'm pretty sure the album was recorded before he left the band.

Had to dig around on Twitter to even figure out what he’s responding to, here it is for anyone else that missed it. There’s a ton of rambling all throughout so cliffnotes here are that Kelly and Noah were close friends, then in 2015 he made a move on her which she was into at first, but she was also a virgin and wanted to take things slow, and he proceeded to have sex with her anyway without her consent.

 

it always feels weird to me when statements like Noah’s on instagram don’t have comments turned off because it always becomes a sea of stans saying shit like I’m not going anywhere! love you king! stream pillar of salt!

 

Some of the top comments now are actually pretty good, including calling out some of the vague language he used in his statement as dismissive. I hate when comments turn into echo chambers of support, but I appreciate there's a place to hold someone accountable (assuming they're read, which isn't a given).
