Well with that context, is it possible Adam was only trying to get her to delete her tweet because it made it seem like she was raped by Cam? I just looked at the texts again. It doesn’t exactly seem like they wanted to silence her account entirely, just not confuse people. Maybe I’m reading it wrong.

 

Contacting her at all was completely inappropriate. She had every right to respond to that tweet, especially given the context of him trying to deny everything and lie about who he spoke to, making it seem as if she was included and a part of this denial. Trying to control her to make them look better really gives insight into this same pattern of behavior.

 

Yeah that’s fair, I didn’t really think of it that way. Like you said, they are in no position to try and limit what anyone has or wants to say. I do see how the tweet could lead to unwanted to speculation, but again clearly there is building context and evidence to abuse of some sort which Cam and Adam have no right to try and control the narrative.

 

I don't have much to add other than that I whole-heartedly agree with this. It's also incredible telling that most of the thread reads like an "I Told You So" from someone who has not always been the best representative of the mental health field imo.

 

I told Alex this earlier, but too much of emo/diy seems to be focused on looking “cool” in a scene that’s inherently uncool to begin with

 

It's wild to me how far people will go to maintain social capital/control in a scene that's supposed to be about community.

 

i see sooooo much of that by like, just random members in the community. Photographers that really try to get close to every band member, and then just do their best to start bands. Idk, people just TRY ask hard to be involved when really all you need to do is be a nice person and be community oriented

Sorority Noise Cancel Tour Following Sexual Assault Allegation [UPDATE]

Update (5 p.m.): As of today, Sorority Noise have been dropped by their publicists. “We are not working with them anymore,” a representative for PR firm Brixton Agency said in a statement to Spin. When reached for comment, Sorority Noise’s manager said, “We have nothing else to say beyond the statement posted on Twitter at this time.”

Edit: I feel it’s super important to point out that since Sheridan posited herself as Evan’s ultimate rehabilitation savior, it takes on a much darker light when considering her organization seems to have blackmailed him into making a statement on a situation that should have been kept private for Scene Clout.

i remember hearing something along these lines a while back, maybe not emotionally abusive but definitely not who they appeared to be. i never really followed them closely and thought they got rid of the person in the organization who was doing something wrong, but i guess it was the person running it and they never left or anything
